<lSew Committee Distributes Bulletins of Musical Programs Lois Nelson Appoints New Music Aids Pamphlets of Ad v a n c e Information Sent To Houses Group Plans To Attract Larger Audiences Announcement of living organi zation members of the new music co-operation committee was made yesterday by Lois Nelson, recently appointed chairman by Tom Stod dard. The first bulletins were mailed Wednesday to the house represent atives, Miss Nelson said. These bulletins contained information re garding the musical programs to be given on the campus during the next week. It will be the duty of the committee members to dis seminate this information among the house members. During spring term bulletins and circular letters will be sent out to the houses each week. To Develop Interest ^ The object of the music co-op eration committee is to develop a keener interest among the stu dents in the musical events which occur regularly on the campus, with the object of attracting larger audiences to 'the concerts and recitals, Miss Nelson states. Former Oregon G rail Resigns State Office Ben Dorris of Eugene, graduate of the University of Oregon, has resigned as a member of the state game commission because of his inability to support three candi dates for governor. Since three of the gubernatorial candidates are friends of Mr. Dorris, he has decided that it is best to retire as a member of the game com mission. Mr. Dorris will act as field man k ager for Charles Hall of Marsh field, candidate for governor. ‘New Age’ Accepts:o Article by F. S. Dunn “Goodwood Inscription and the Lodge at Rook's Hill” is the title of an article by Prof. F. S. Dunn. Latin instructor, which was re cently accepted for publication by The New Age magazine, a Ma sonic organ. The article deals with the in scription of the Goodwood estate, which was made at the time of the Emperor Claudius, and . speaks 4 of the dedication of a shrine to Neptune and Minerva under the ^Auspicej of a native British king. Anny Ondra, the heroine, is a Czecho-Slovakian beauty of much popularity in England. “Ed’s Co-ed” We all know the nice things about this picture. “Isle of Lost Ships” Virginia Valli plays a lady Rob inson Crusoe in this very unusual play. However, she is not really alone, there being quite a number of men on the island also. Advanced Clogging Class Will Organize Advanced students in clogging or tap dancing will try out for the Modern Clogging group, a re cently organized group on this campus composed of the most ad vanced doggers and tap dancers, at 7:45 this evening in the gym of Gerlinger hall. Anyone on the campus may try out for the club, providing she has at sometime or other taken advanced clogging or tap-dancing, those in charge announce. They will present Dvorak’s ‘‘New World Symphony.” tryouts. However, only the most advanced students will be consid ered for membership. “Although this group has just been organized here recently, we hope that in a few years it will rajtk with the Master Dance group,’ the dancing honorary,” said Miss Margaret Duncan, in structor in physical education and adviser of the group. "It has been tried in other colleges and should I prove successful here.” Soph Girls Defeat Seniors in Hoop Tilt The sophomore team emerged victorious over the seniors in the basketball game last evening by only one point, 27-26. It was hard fought throughout the entire game, but particularly during the last half. The sophomores are now in the lead for the championship, having defeated the seniors twice, and won over the frosh and junior first teams, and the sophomore second team. They have lost only one game, and that to the juniors. In the other game played last time. Vivian Coss was the star night, the junior second team de feated the senior second, 16-5. The sophomore second team won by default from the frosh third team.
