Work on preparation of a scenario
for the University of Oregon mov
ing picture production started this
week under the direction of Leslie
L. Lewis, instructor in English.
Myron (Iriffiu, head of the stu
dent committee, has appointed
Henry Lumpee, Jean Patrick and
Alex Tamkiu to assist him in work
ing on the script which is to bo
ready within two weeks. Screen
tests will start as soon as the nuni
b her and type of characters can be
determined.
Several persons interested in 1 lie
production have been added to the
advisory staff by George IT. God
frey, faculty chairman. These will
assist with suggestions and criti
cism of the student work. The new
appointees arc Stanley Stevenson
and Carl It. Baker, Eugene; Stanley
Orne, theater editor of the Oregon
ian, Portland; Harold Hunt, theater
editor of flic Journal, Portland; and
Dean Collins, Portland Telegram.
Other members of this committee
arc Bert Bates, Itoscburg, and Roy
LePevre, Portland.
The university picture staff has
also voted to work with the coop
eration of the Portland Cine club,
of which 31 r. LePevre is president.
The Portland club lias offered assist
ance in various ways, and this offer
has been accepted by the students.
Interest in 1ho production is al
ready campus-wide, and much inter
est. is also noted throughout the
state. Jt is planned to show the.
film first on the campus, then in
Portland under the auspies of the
Cine club, and then in any part of
the state where people desire to
see it.
