GEOLOGY BIBLIOGRAPHY OF STATE REVISED A bibliography of the geology of Oregon has recently been completed by Dorothy Dixon, graduate stu dent in the geology department, and tv ill be published soon by the Uni-j versity as one of the publications included in the series of scientific ] papers. The complete subject index and | cross reference index contained in j the bibliography will prove exceed- j ingly valuable to anyone working; in the getology of the state. The bibliography as it now stands is i in part that which was published j in 1912 and continued by Rachael Husband. This has been carefully revised and the subject matter brought up to date by Miss Dixon. Work on the paper was carried j , on under the supervision of the j geology department and the latter part of the bibliography was di rected by Mr. M- H. Douglass, li brarian. Freshman Hoop Squad Leaves This Morning For Portland Games (Continued from, page one) court. In the recent doughnut | basketball games he was the Phij Delta high pfoint man . “Gord” Ridings, all-state forward from Uni versity high is another whirlwind on the basketball floor. He is a cousin of “Red” Ridings of O. A. C. basketball fame and seems to possess all of “Red’s” tricks. “Scot ty” Milligin, all-state guard from Eugene, is a tall lanky player who covers much of the floor. Claire Scallon, all-state forward and all Portland forward, who has just en tered the University, is considered one of the best hoop ringers turned out by the Portland high schools. For the past few weeks ho has been playing with the strong Multnomah club five. Prospects for Victory Goed According to Coach Leslie the prospects for a winning team look vdry good. With the abundance of all-star material, his one big job is to get them all playing the same ■tyle of basketball. The recent final examinations did not affect the basketball squad to a great ex tent. However, throe good pros pects, Martin, DaMert and Green, were lost through failure to make the scholastic requirements. The yearling basketball schedule is now being arranged. It will in clude two games, perhaps four, with the Oregon Aggie Rooks, and pos sibly a series with the University of Washington babes. Strong high school fives, and several minor col lege teams will bo met. Men making the trip are: Keith Emmons, Mervyn Chastain, Gordon Ridings, Joe Bally, Scott Milligin, Claire Scallon, Dave Epps, Bernard Hummelt, Donald McCormiek and Tod Pope.
