    SCHEDULE ARRANGED
FOR AWARDING HONORS
Number of Points Decided
For Different Sports
W. A. A. Council accepted the
point schedule for major sports ar
ranged by Regina Davault, and ap
proved the tests submitted for honor
squads in minor sports at a meet
ing held last night in the Woman’s
building.
Under the point schedule, which
the council will present for appro
val at the next W. A. A. mass meet
ing to be called the first week of
December, members of first teams
in major sports will receive 100
points towards an emerald “O”
which is awarded to the person
amassing 500 points, and towards
the athletic sweater, awarded to
the holder of 1000 points.
Second team members will re
ceive 75 points third team members
50, fourth team 35 and fifth and
color team members 25; substitutes
will receive fivo points.
For efficiency in gymnasium
work a woman may Ireceive 25
points. Honor squads are to bo
formed in archery, riflry, riding,
dancing and swimming. Entranco
into these squads will be based on
certain tests arranged by the
coaches and heads of those sports,
and approved by W. A. A. council.
.Any girl who throughout the en
tire riflry season shoots an aver
age score of DO will be admitted to
the rifle honor squad. The test for
honors in dancing allows for a max
imum of 280 points but anyono
passing it with a score of 150 will
be considered a member of the
honor squad. The honor test in
swimming requires that the aspir
ant swim in perfect form four
times around the tank with one
stroke, not the crawl, repeat this
feat with another stroke, then swim
twice around with a third stroke,
to swim the length of the tank with
a back stroke, to pass on throe stan
dard dives, to dive for peddle and
recover it three times, and to
plunge 10 feet or swim the length of
the tank under water. The grade
for these teals must bo 90 or above.
A woman may receive points in
swimming and dancing honors only
once. Swimming being a major
sport, members of the class teams
will receive the points as outlined
above. Tests for entrance ^nto
honor squads in archery, and rid
ing have not been arranged yet:
Forty Vote That New
Magazine Be Created
As Literary Monthly
(Continued from page one)
would not be a special alumni sec
tion. The effect would be to pre
sent a magazine to appeal both to
alumni and campus readers. This
plan w'ould he financially easy, as
the Old Oregon advertising could
bo augmented.
In case of a new publication, in
dependant of all present campus
organs of publication, a soparate
list of advertisers would have to
be made up.
The sentiment was not towards
crowding the alumni out of their
own publication, and this was one
of the determining factors against
the consolidation.
Those present at the meeting rep
resented almost all departments in
the University. This indicates that
the students aro interested in the
new venture, and that abundant
material would be available.

after 2 minutes and 15 seconds of
action. Betzer, who went into his
match severely handicapped by a
misunderstanding of the rules, lost
to Earl Carrier, also of Multnomah,
in a closely contested bout. Neith
er man gained a fall, but the deci
sion went to Carrier after a nine
minute struggle.

The Fact Remains
That nothing fits in quite so well with
the Sunday dinner as ice cream. No
matter what other kinds of dessert you
may think of, everyone wants and ex
pects ice cream to be the crowning
achievement of the well prepared and
served dinner.
BLUE BELL ICE CREAM
Ice cream is justly popular with the
students. It is rich, pure, and deli
cious. Its favor records the large num
ber of orders we fill every week.
