    LAWYER NINE TO PLAY
BETAS, MONDAY AT 3
Winner Will Be Champion
(W Whole Campus
The big campus baseball game of
the yeaT, between the famous
lawyer nine and the Betas, dough
nut champs, will be played next
Monday on Kincaid field at 3 p. m.
This promises to be a very inter
esting game, as the winner of the
(melee will be dubbed “the closed
and open champion of the campus.”
Neither of the teams has lost a
game during the season, and they
have been practicing overtime of
late in anticipation of a hard fight.
Tuesday, the lawyer nine handed
out a fearful drubbing to Bill
Sorsby’s erstwhile baseball team.
This fact, coupled with the down
fall of the mighty scribblers, leads
the young barristers to feel that
they have attained their place in
the sun. They emphatically assert
CHARM
is based largely upon beauty.
True, personality may enter
into it, but good looks are
usually the basis of every
girl’s charm. We ask only
the chance to improve your
appearance.

their right to be called the inde
pendent champions of the campus,
and they are so confident in their
prowess that they have l!eonde
scended to accept the challenge of
the Betas.
Jimmy King, captain of the law
yers, said, “Sure we can beat them!
If we didn’t know we could beat
them, do you think we would play
them?” The Betas haven’t made
any threats aS to the ouctome of
the game, but they wander around
with that quiet look, as though
they considered it quite an incon
j sequential matter.

Can You Beat It?
Eugene’s building permits so far this year are on a par with
other cities of 1 00,000 population.
' We are furnishing the greater part of the lumber used in the
construction of these many buildings.
The reason for this is our prices are always right and our ma
terial and service the very best. ' m
Do rtot purchase that lumber bill without first cgnsulting us and
inspecting our big stock of lumber right at Eugene’s door.

Saturday Classes are
Approved; Schedule to
Allow for One Day Off
(Continued from page one)
waste of class room space has been
brought about by an aversion in
general for afternoon classes. An
other reason has been afternoon
laboratories. With a reduction in
the number of morning classes,
however, there would be opportun
ity of having laboratories in the
morning, thereby releasing the af
ternoon hours to classes.
By means of the new system, the
faculty has sought solution to an
ever-growing problem. It is its be
lief that Saturday classes will not
only allow for an increase in the
amount of usable time, but will
eliminate large classes. The chang
es will be made with the idea of
causing the students as little in
I convenience as possible.
