PHI SIGMA P! LOSES TO CHI FSI IN CLOSE GAME Teams Show Lack of Practice in Fast and Rough Tilt In a close game, the Chi Psi team defeated the Phi Sigma Pi quintet yes terday afternoon. The teams were even ly matched, but both showed a woefu lack of teamwork and shooting ability The game was rough and comparatively fast. Hoar and Huston for the loosen scored most of the baskets. Lombard center on the Chi Psi team, scored t points for his team while Torstell, t substitute put in in the last half, showec some brilliant playing and looped 6 counters for the winners. BUNGALOW Florence Buck Explains the Purpose of the Organisation; Drive to Start on Monday “We are always receiving but we should learn to give, and this is one of the things the Y. W. C. A. teaches us,” said Mrs. Bruce J. Gif fen at the | bungalow last night when addressing the girls on the place of the association on the campus. Mrs. Giffen also ex plained the place in the world and other campuses that the Y. W. C. A. is tak ing, and other things that it does for the student who gives it her support. Florence Buck, undergraduate repre sentative, spoke on the aims and pur poses of the association. The musical selection was Dett’s “Magnolia,” a piano solo by Frances Strange. About 125 girls were present and were welcomed by Mary Clerin, presi dent of the association this year. With the mmbership drive beginning next Monday, according to Florence Magowan, secretary, all girls will be given a chance to show themselves in sympathy with the work of the Y. W. C. A. by signing the pledge and the membership c&rd. No fee is required to be a member of this organization.
