There is, of course, a very efficient body on llie campus, “The Greater Oregon Committee,” whose definite task that is, but the burden of the work must fall on the individual stu dents. With the individual student rests the task of creating a spirit of friendliness toward and cooperation with the University of Oregon and its aims. With recent talk of reduced taxation and unnecessary expense, much of which openly and covertly has been directed at the state institutions of higher learning, there is a decided need for an antidote for so insiduous a poison. That antidote rests largely in the hands of the student body. Publicity may pour from the University of Oregon showing the variety and value of the work done here but it is useless unless it is driven home by the personal touch that only the individual stu dents can give. For those who love Oregon, and the Emerald believes that ap plies to all, Christmas vacation is an admirable time to interest pros pective students in the advantages of Oregon. In an athletic way the future of Oregon’s success on floor and field depends more or less directly on tin* efficiency with which yon can interest athletes I in Oregon. A Question of Honor Integrity in the matter of examinations is not a matter that should merit public comment but unfortunately there are always a few that seek Hie easy way of making up a lot of work they overlooked dur ing the term. A definite standard of personal integrity should be built up on the Oregon campus that would preclude any repetition of the group of “cases” that each term find themselves before the disciplinary committee. Shy Huntington lias been elected head coach for another year. It is now a question of backing him by giving him the best possible material to work with. Get in and dig!.
