The championship of doughnut basket
ball was virtually decided when the bat
tling Fiji five warded off the fierce on
slaught of the eager Owls in their inarch
toward the cup by the narrow margin of
an 8-7 score. Friendly Hall slipped up
on the blind side of Sigma Nu with a I
11-10 victory; Baehelordon drubbed S- j
Maralda 27-!>; and S. A. E. marched off I
with the spoils of a 10-7 score, against
Delta Tau Delta, yesterday afternoon
in the indoor gym.
The Fiji-Owl game was featured by
spasmatie spurts, first from one side
and then from the other. Iu (he first
five minutes of play both sides hung
tough, but after the initial warming up
period, Knudsen, Fiji forward, slipped
away for the first count. The fight was ]
on. both sides opened up and a mad j
swirl ensued. The 1000 per cent Fijis ‘
were rushed to the limit in maintaining
their top-notch position. Not once were
they able to leave the dexterous Owls far
enough in the rear to put them out of
danger.
Throughout the S. A. E.-Delta Tau
Delta contest the former hnd the upper
band due to their good floor work. Kays
ami Moore were their big point getters,
Kays making 7 and Moore 0. Base anil
Beaver, forwards for the Delts. played
up to their usual good form, Base an
nexing 5 points.
In the first five minutes of pla.v be
tween Baehelordon and S Mam Ida the
score favored the latter, hut later the
Bachelors took the lead and increased it
rapidly until the game ended. Black,
the victor’s star guard, played a stellar
game from first to lust adding P points
to their score.
A tit-for-tat struggle was that staged
between Friendly Hall and Sigma Xu. In
the second half of the game the dorm
men overcome the load held by their op
ponents, by one point.

a proper choice of foods, which should

A Real Furniture Sale4
The many people who have t aken advantage of our “Great
Pre-Xmas Sale” have been sincerely surprised at two things:
1— The size, variety and quality of our stock.
2— The surprisingly low prices.
In offering this Special Sale we had several purposes in mind
listed below in order of their importance to 11s:
1— To attract new people from greater distances, thus
spreading knowledge of the size and kind of store we have.
2— To back up with real action our oft-repeated pledge “to
do everything in our power to give to our customers better
goods at lower prices.”
3— To encourage and establish the habit of giving Xmas
presents of the substantial “all year” kind found in a good fur
niture store, rather than some of the impractical extravaganc
es commonly given.
4— To contribute our share to the “back to normalc}'” move
ment.
,P*TTo c^emi UP” our stock. You may think this should
have been placed at the head of the list, but as stated last week,
very few of the articles on sale have lowered in wholesale
