FOURTEEN SOCCERITES OFF FOR CORVALLIS Squad Chosen by Coach Dyment to Bat tle With Aggio Eleven \ This Morning. Fourteen soccer players leave for Cor vallis at 7:30 this morning (o play the Aggies. Although the men who are to go to O. A. C. were chosen by Coach D.vment last night,v no positions have yet been assigned. Nchmeer, Tuerek. Madden, McPherson, Patterson, King. Brogan, Potter. Koerber, Staton, Wal lace, Ingalls and Cupps will make the trip. * Rumor from the north says that O. A. C. has a wonderful forward line made up of players noted in Portland soccer cir cles. and one man who played the great European game in Spain. COUNCIL IS AGAINST . CUTTING OF CLASSES (Continued from Page 1.) of the persistent, interruption to eol'ege work, hut recommended to the faculty that an authorized dance in the men’s j gymnasium, from 4 to G p. m. only. j permitted next Monday afternoon in ] 0 event of victory only. The council last j year passed a resolution, also, condemn ing unauthorized rallies., * •In view of the fact that this recoin-1 liieiidation came from the student coun cil. and that, the faculty desires to de velop self - government in the student body to the point at which the students may ultimately take over their govern ment altogether, the recommendation was concurred in. Tile faculty ruled, however, that those sf'udcnts in law. physical education, vo mjanee languages, and other departments, who have classes during the t to G o’clock period, must attend classes as usual. ,The student council and faculty meet ings were largely attended. i HARVARD SQUAD STRONG. Coaeli Rol Roper of Princeton has picked the Harvard eleven as the strong est squad in the east this rear. He is of the opinion that the present team is stronger than last year’s aggregation. . TODAY’S BATTLE AT CORVALLIS TO TELL (Coutiuucd from l’age 1.) cst fought that either team has been in Ibis season. The so-ealled “psychologt ieal effect” may of course beat the Ag gies. but even the Aggies give this theory t tile horse laugh. The “psychological ef fect” will not help either the Aggies or Oregon today. If anything defeats either team exclusive of the playing ability it will probably be the mud. O. A. C. has a gridiron in a mud flat which will sur pass anything on the Pacific coast, and the rains of the past few days have tended to increase its fine quality. Practically the same line - up that started against the Sun Dodgers on Day ward field last Saturday will start against the Aggies today. In the back ficld will be Captain Hill Steers at quarterback: Ooorge King at fullback and Nish Chapman and P.ill Ileinhart at halves. Reinhart is playing at left half in place of Pete AleacJ, who started the Washington game. In the line will be Morfitt and Howard at0 ends; Spike Leslie and Shields at tackles; Strachan and Mantz at guards and l’.rick Leslie at center. Din. Mead, Holmes. .Tncob berger and Tllake may get a chance al the hackfield while tin' substitute line men are F. Shields, Yonder Abe. Ill-own. Laughlin. .McKinney and Starr.
