legiate publishers held here last Thurs
day and. Friday eleven 'college publica
tions will soon be receiving the ifencfits
of the Pacific Intercollegiate Press As
aociation which was formed at that time

This association will endeavor to give
to its members a press service which will
correspond in its field to that of the As
sociated Press and similar organizations
iii the regular newspaper field. Each pa
per will send out regular news bulletins
to each of the other papers and a busi
nesslike organization is planned by the
leaders.
• A. Wendell Brackett, of the T’'diversity
of Washington Daily, ,who was one of
the original promoters of the idea, is to
have general charge of the news service.
He has had considerable experience
along this line and in recognition of his
ability he was elected to this position. In j
addition to the general news editor each I
paper will have its own news service j
editor who will handle the press service |
for that publication. This position on;
tfie Emerald will he filled by Jacob
Jacobson, former exchange editor.
•'Although this is‘the-first attempt to]
establish a' regular news service among j
the college papers of the Pacific coast it!
is not a pioneer in the national field. A I
similar association is in existence in the '
east and includes in its membership the
leading college, papers of that part of
the country.
TECH STUPES ORGANIZE
Five Students of Portland School On
University Campus.

as host to the sixteen students present.
There are about graduates of tin
school on the campus.
KANSAS HAS RECORD.
Kansas has not had a touchdown
scored against her this season.
