GET BEHIND THE “LEMON PUNCH”
At last a substantial movement has been launched on the I
Oregon campus toward publishing a humorous magazine.!
Students who have read the humorous publications of numor- ]
ous other colleges can realize better .just what the term :
humorous magazine signifies. There are few who have not;
hoard of the' Dartmouth Jaek-o-Lantern, the Harvard Lamp ;
poon. the Sundodger of Washington, the Pelican of IT. of C1.,1
the Ohapparall of Stanford and countless others. The Lemon |
Punch at Oregon will no doubt in time take its place by the
side of these who have already made names for themselves L
nationally as well as on their own campus.
But a pearl of great price is not obtained for the asking, i
they sav. We can not sit hack and say, “Let’s have the Lem-1
on Punch.” Actual effort must he put behind the magazine!
to make it a success, dust a small group of people working
cannot accomplish what is necessary to make the Lemon
Punch a real magazine. If the first publication which will;
appear some time in December is to be successful enough to'
warrant future issues it must be the expression of the best wit
and art that Oregon can produce. It must be the combined
effort ot all. A contribution box will bo conveniently placed j
to receive contributions from students.

The result of the Washington State
California game to be played .‘it Berkeley
this week will be watched with a groat
deal of interest throughout the .North
west. The Cougars are conceded to have
the hardest fighting and smoothest work
ing team they have ever had.
The University of Washington will
tangle with Stanford at Seattle on Sat
urday. The Sundodgers are conceded the
victory over the Cardinals by about three
touchdowns.
There are but three green men in the
Cougars’ line-up which will meet the
California Rears, Saturday. California
is not expecting an easy battle. The
outcome of tins game will probably de
ride the Western team to play at Pasa
dena in the New Year’s Hay game.
Both O. A. C. and the University of
Oregon eleven are resting this week. The j
Aggies will meet W. S. C. at l’ulinmu j
on November Pi in the Homecoming :
game at Pullman.
