Each week-end will be filled with social events, mostly fraternity dances, luncheons, and mat inee parties. The first formal dance will be sponsored tonight by the mem bers of Delta Gamma at the Hotel Osburn. At the home of Delta Delta Delta tonight the girls are entertain ing with an elaborate springtime par ty. This afternoon the sophomores of Chi Omega were hostesses for a mat inee dance for the freshmen and this evening Kappa Alpha Theta is hostess for an informal dance. * ¥ * The members of Delta Gamma are giving a formal dance tonight at the Osburn Hotel. The Japanese effect will be carried out in the deflorations with tapestries and lattice work en twined with pink and lavender pop pies and festoon of ivy. Incense will be kept burning in incense pots by little Constance Lewis and Margaret Bean. Misses Florence and Eleanor Buck in Japanese costume will serve punch. A butterfly dance by Miss Margaret Cundy will be the feature. Supper will be served in the Japanese tea room. Patrons and patronesses for the affair are: President and Mrs- P. L. Campbell, Dean Elizabeth Fox, Mrs. A. Chatfield, Professor and Mrs. Dunn, Miss Amy Dunn, Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Bean, Mr. and Mrs. Arthpr Rogers. The guest list includes: Miss May Wallace of Portland; Ralph Strong, Wilbur Kelly and Ed Gurney of Cor vallis; Harry Jamieson, Herman Lind, Bill Coleman, Claire Holdridge, War ren Kays, Martin Howard, Edward Ward, George Balck, Clive Humph rey, Ross McKenna, Robert Cosgriff, Paul Schafer, George King, Ray Mooers, John Alexander, Albert Cur ry, Ralph Couch, Bill Collins, Floyd Maxwell, Virgil Cameron, Joe Ingram, Carl Knudsen, Russell Meyer, Prince Callison, Sel Gassoway, Frank Carter, Cedric Wallace, Dwight Phipps, Leon Culberson, Stanford Anderson, Lyle Bartholemew, Ralph Johnson, Borden Wood, Estley Farley, Daniel Wood, Leslie Wellington, Charles Hayter, Wilbur Hulin, Berrian Dunn, Samuel Bullock, Ned Twining, Jack Dundore. Springtime with its woodsy bowers, ferns, (lowers, and blue skies, fills the Delta Delta Delta house tonight where the members of this fraternity are entertaining with a dancing party, flowers give the effect of the woods in the early spring. Those who were honored with invitations to this most charming party were Miss Louise Fitch, Miss Edna Bushman, Mrs. Geo. Fitch, Mrs. James Gilbert, Mrs. Flora Owen, Ellsworth Lucas, Rollin Wood ruff, Barton Sherk, Earl Clark, Kelly Branstetter, French Moore, Curtiss Peterson, Arvo Simula, Arthur Bush man, Sherman Reef, George Weller, Austin Hazard, Charles Huggins, Ivan McKinney, Verne Dudley, Dudley Day, Don Davis, Crecene Farris, Jlow ard Staub, O- F. Hargraves, Claire Keeney, Carlton Spencer, Jack Book er, Robert Morrison, Neil Morfitt, Ward McKinney and Robert Shep pard. A number of girls from Delta Delta Delta from O- A. C. are ex pected to come over for the week end. ( hi Omega sophomores entertained the freshmen with a very informal matinee dance at their chapter house this afternoon. Ogden Johnson, George King, and Matt Duffey, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn MeCready acted as patrons for the afternoon, • • « This afternoon Mrs. John F. Bovard was hostess for a tea honoring Miss Catherine Beekley, who is assistant in the zoology department this year. Mrs. Hovard’s guests included Miss Julia Burgess, Miss Mary Perkins, Miss Mary Watson, Miss Louise Cum-! mings, Miss Eva Capps, Miss Louise Fitch, Miss Amy Dunn, Miss Kather ine Winslow, Miss Charlie Fenton, and Miss May Sibald. * * * On January ft, Mrs. Dean Walker and Miss Mary Perkins were joint hostesses for a reception honoring Mrs. George Fitch and Miss Louise Fitch, who have come to Eugene to make their home. Guests for the occasion were'George King, Wilbur Hoyt, Rob ert Shepperd, Edward Herman, Ar nold Berry, Carol Akers, Rutherford Brown, Asa Eggleson, Neil Morfitt, Dudley Day, Del Oberteuffer, Alfred Krohn, Fred Dodson, George Sen senick and Hobert Belknap. * * * Mrs- J, Benly Stam and daughter, Anna Lou Stam, of Manhatten Beach, Herman Gilfillan of Belling ham, Washington and Lee Wilson were dinner guests of Kappa Kappa Gamma, Sunday. * * * Helen Flint was a dinner guest of Alpha Delta Friday evening. Eva Capps, a student at Berkeley, was a guest of this fraternity Saturday. * * * Ray Lawrence White was a guest of Delta Tau Delta Monday. Mr. White is a famous woman imperson ater and has toured extensively with his company. He became\ acquainted with several Oregon students while in France and stopped Monday to renew their acquaintance. Melvin B. Ogden of Portland, en route to California, is spending a few days at the Beta Theta Pi house. Mr. Ogden is an alumnus of. Oregon, graduating with the class of 1911. * * * At the invitation of Mrs- John Keating and Mrs. Thoburn Ross, Dean Elizabeth Fox went to Portland this week-end to speak before the Mult nomah chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. * * * Sunday luncheon guests of Kappa Kappa Gamma tomorrow evening will be Frank Holmes, Mat# Duffey, Geo. King, Irving Smith, Paul Smith, John Gavin, John Gamble, and Rus sel Meyer. • * * On December 13, Chi Omega held initiation for Cecile Creede, Edythe Creede, Clare Ryan, Vivian Strong, Mildred Bettinger, Marjorie Smith, Clara Thompson, Marjorie Holman, and Gertrude Phetteplace. Following the initiation the girls were given a banquet at the Hotel Osbum. • • • Elsie Hildebrand and Ruth Stewart were dinner guests of Alpha Delta Tuesday evening. * * * William McAJlet\, an old Kappa Sigma, was luncheon guest at the local chapter house last Wednesday noon. • • • Harry Hargraves ’18, is visiting at ti e Alpha Tau Ome&a house for a few days. • * * A1 Malone, Guy Saere and Arvo Simola were dinner guests of Sigma Alpha Epsilon last Tuesday evening. • * • Tuesday dinner guests at the Sigma Delta l’hi house were Mrs. Fayard and Miss Jennie Fayard • * • Alpha l’hi is holding initiation to day for fourteen new members.
