Jl. C. WINS TRACK MEET FROM OREGON 88-46 Result of Annua! Clash Not Much of Surprise to Varsity Fol lowers. Hank Foster High Point Man for U. of 0. Team; Bill Lyle Badly Missed. The Oregon Agriewltnr.il college won ' the annual track meet from Oregon at Corvallis Saturday afternoon, rolling up a total of S8 points to the 4t> gathered by the Lemon-Yellow representatives. The outcome of the meet was no surprise to the Oregon followers as there was little hope of the Varsity being able to defeat the strong Aggie aggregation. The only near record, or anything near record time, was sot by Foster in run ning the 100 in 10 seconds flat. Foster was the high point man of the Oregon i team carrying off 15 points. Eikelman, I of O. A. C., was the individual high point man of the day, getting 17 points to Lis credit. Capt. Coleman Wins Mile. Captain Coleman won his letter by taking first in the mile. In the half mile he allowed his teammate Seen to win his orange "O" by slowing down in the last fifty yards and letting Scea take the lead. “Oklahoma Bill” I.yle was badly missed by Oregon in the mile event as he would have made Coleman burry to grab first. Lyle has been declared not eligible as this is liis first year at Oregon. The one year residence rule keeps him out. Jack Montague took first place for Oregon in the 440 with Seen, of O. A. C., second. In the high hurdles Kikelman. 'or the Aggies, won by a matter of inches over Wilson of Oregon. “Hank” Foster grabbed the broad jump for Oregon iu his last try, setting the mark at 22 feet 1 inch, which was just an inch and a half better than the mark of Ross. As the University of Washington has called off her track meet with the Ag gies for May 18 and has cancelled her date to meet Oregon here next Saturday, it is probable that another meet will be held between the two schodls.
