Unanimously Voted Into
Organization.
Letter Men’s Grades Will Be
Compiled; Tri-Yearly Ini
tiation Discussed.
Hugo Bezdek, William Hayward, and
Edward Shockley were unanimously
elected to honorary membership in the
Order of “O” at the regular monthly
meeting of the organization Held last
night in the mens gymnasium. Bezdek
and Hayward have been honorary mem
bers since the order was founded; their
election last night being a matter of
form in accord with the wishes of the
members.
Active steps to perfect the order and
make it a big factor in hnndling all
branches >f athletics were started at
yesterday’s meeting. Three articles of
the newly drawn constitution were
passed upon. The remainder will be
ready for approval at the next meeting
in May.
The “O" men are determined to kepi
their scholarship up during the entire
year. Coach Bezdek offered a sugges
I lion that a man in -»uoh branch of sport
attend to the grades of the men out for
that sport. The o'Her acted favorably
on the suggestion and will immediately
get in touch with the faculty concerning
the letter men's grades.
“I wouia iike to see the grades of the
“O” men compiled .ogether at the end j
of each semester,” said Coach Bezdek
in commenting upon the matter. ‘‘I am j
quite sure they would measure up to the j
average house standings. It will be a j
big step in the furtherance of athletics.” '
President Martin Nelson has formu- j
lated a certificate of membership pat
terned after the one now awarded to
the “C” men at Cornell. " The order
unanimously voted to buy the certifi
cates which will he awarded at a nom
inal sum to nny man who makes his let
ter in any major .jranch of athletics.
The certificates will be on heavy paper
suitable for framing, with a large block
“O” in the center.
Plans were talked over for a tri-yearly
initiation cf the new members of the
order, following the football, basketball,
track and baseball seasons. The first
initiation ceremonies will take place the
latter part of May to welcome the new
track and baseball athletes in the order.
John Beckett, chairman of the rec >nt
dance given at the Rainbow, reported a
balance of five cents i.. the treasury.

Produced.
Royalty Demands by Publishers'
Is Prohibitive, Declares
A. F. Reddie.
“Admiral Crichton,” the senior play,
will not be produced March HO and 31 as
has been advertised, according to a
statement made by A. F. Reddie, pro
fessor of dramatic interpretation, late
this afternoon.
That the royalty demanded, $100, is
prohibitive is the reason given by Mr.
Reddie.
However, another play will be substi
tuted at once, lie declared.

at the Cabinet conference to be held in
Eugene from March HO to April ac
cording to Miss Tirza Hinsdale, secre

lege. O. A C. and Corvallis and Eugene
high schools. The delegates will be en

while they are in Eugene.
