A CHANCE TO DO SOMETHING FOR OREGON!
Dvery student that goes home for the Christmas holidays should
consider it both a duty and a pleasure to help organize an Oregon get
together meeting in his or her native heath.
Due to the shortness of time everybody could not be notified, and I
take this opportunity to set forth a few things that should be emphasized
in these meetings. Do not over-burden your parties or dances or what
ever they may be with too much serious stuff, but have at least one
talk describing the new era that Oregon is facing. We have a new com
merce school, a new architecture school, a law school on the campus, bet
ter music facilities, new buildings, we are on a firm basis financially, due
to the milage tax, and we have entered the Pacific coast conference in
athletics. The future is promising.
Invite high school students and alumni; sing Oregon songs. If the
glee club comes through your town and doesn’t stop, have some Oregon
ites down to the train and make the glee club sing—they are willing.
And, above all—don’t forget the publicity'. Have the newspapers
at your service, both before and after the affair.
Make a talk to the high school assembly and try to reverse the opinion
that Oregon i a good place to go if you want to have a good time. Men
tion the fact that approximately half of the students work their way
through college here.
At any rate, do something! Call your schoolmates together and de
termine the action best suited to your town.
Yours for a bigger Oregon, HARRY L. KT’CK,
Chairman of Committee.
