Ulee Club In Eugene, Tuesday evening as a return program tor the concert given in Corvallis by Pro fessor Lyman's warblers on their re cent trip. It is unfortunate that the date is sol lor a week night, but the possibllly of obtaining a more ad vantageous time for the performance has been precluded by the Easter holidays which will begin at the close of classes next Friday. The Oregon glee club men report a large audience and the best of treatment at the bands of the O. A. C. students, and it is the least that the Oregon men and women can do, to turn out in full force to welcome the singers from Corvallis. Studies can well be attended to in the after noon and underclass rules for stay ing In week nights might for once bo easily dispensed with. Aside from the fact that a good program will he given, which it will be decidedly worth while to hear, the Oregon students should do all In their power to show that they appre ciate the courtes) extended by hto members of the O. A. C. student body to the Oregon club. SIOMA DELTA (111. Sigma Delta Chi, the journalistic fraternity at the Cniversity has un dertaken a it"w departure in Its meetings which should be of intense interest to all students who Intend to make the newspaper business their life work. These meetings, former* 1) mu ret, have be n thrown open to alt who wish to attend, and able men in the profession have been secured to speak informally on different phases id the newspaper game. Fol lowing each address, those present are at liberty to ask any questions in count, tieu with the remarks made by the speaker. The first of these open meetings was held Thursday evening, but the understanding as to it nature seems not to have been widely prevalent, us the only on up present were mem bers o the fraternity. The Emerald wishes to correct tills impression, and moreover to a :v.-e attendance, when ever possible on the part of would be newspaper men. Ultimate a sedation and conversa tion with man who have made good in the Journalistic profession are of inestimable value to those who would follow this vocation. The impor tance of this opportunity which is of fered cannot be overemphasised. The Soph "mere and Senior classes have so far expressed no official opinion muicative oi tneir attitude wwaru smoa.ng ou the Doruers Ot me campus, inis is not ■hue to a taiiure on their part to recognize the importance of the (fuestion but rath er to the fact that at the general class meeting held Wednesday, the prtfti? o£ business postponed decision on the smoke brigade amtil a future date. The attitude oi men and wo men alike, however, seems to be pre ponderantly against the use of to bacco on or near the campus. It is | not hard to predict the attitude j which will eventually be taken. _ ooooooooooooooeooee o HOOIETY o I o - 0 o By Beatrice Lilly. o o O ouooooooooooooooooo SOCIETY— The sixth annual April Frolic will be given in the men’s gymnasium to night.
