several others who were adjudged

and McMillan and Moreland for sup
port. McMillan is a left-hander and
has been going like a run-away this
Spring, having to his credit several
nice games pitched against the pro
fessional team from Regina in the
Canadian Twilight League. He or
Culver will no doubt bo Garrett’s first
call to face Oregon Friday, while Big
bee will take up the burden in oppo
sition. Welch, who proved so effec
tive against the O. A. C. last Spring,
will no doubt work in the second
game.
A big crowd is expected to turn
out for these games, Manager Geary
planning to stir up the towns-people
by some sort of a new advertising
stunt, for which he and "Oski-Kink”
Blackwell are scheming. The price
of admission will be thirty-five cents,
four bits being assessed for reserved
seats in the grandstand. The game
on Friday will be called at 11:15, while
that on Saturday has been set ahead
to 8:00 o’clock. “Bud Anderson or
“Jack” Johnson will officiate.
President Van Hise, of Wisconsin,
has issued a warning to Wisconsin
Sophomores that no hazing will be
tolerated. He says, “There has been
no suspension of the law against haz
ing and any Sophomore or Upper
classman who participates in it, does
so at his own risk. The action of the
faculty and regents for violations
will probably be more drastic than
ever.” • *
Whitman College is predicting a
jolt in Oregon’s chances in the dis
tance** at the coming conference meet
on May 31st. Barrett, one of their
distance men, recently ran the three
mile handicap on the Ankeny track
in 17:04.
