MISS FORBES 10 PLAY .Miss Winifred Forbes and .Miss Avis Benton Appear Wednesday in Recital. Miss Winifred Forbes, violinist, and Miss Avis Benton, assistant of Mr. Carl Laehmund in the piano de partment of the University School of Music, will be heard in joint recital at Villard Hall, at 8:15 o’clock tomor row evening, Wednesday, January 15, Miss Forbes b a graduate of North western Musical College, and Miss Benton has studied in Berlin. The recital promises to be delightful, for both artists are gifted. Among Miss Forbes’ press notices are given the following comments: “Special mention is made of Miss Winifred Forbes, who has unusual skill, playing with a broad, beautiful tone and fine musical perception.” “Miss Forbes plays with brilliant finish and has excellent execu tion.” “Miss Forbes pleased and delight ed the most critical and at the same time reached the heart of those, who do not care for classical music. This is a feat not easily accomplished. Her technique i excellent and her tones were pure and delightfully sweet.” Mr. David Campbell accompaniments. The following is the Sonata Allegm moderate. Mr. Frazier is a prom inent graduate of Washington High School, class of Ml, while bis bride is a graduate of Lincoln High School. While attending the University, Frazier was a member of the kappa Sigma fraternity, and prominent in athletics. The Oregon and Dormitory clubs have qualified for the final game of the inter-fraternity handball tourna ment, which is scheduled for this af ternoon. The team winnig this game will be awarded the trophy cup of fered by the inter-fraternity league. Zeta Phi defeated Sigma Chi the first two games of their match on Wednesday afternoon, Brownell and Windnagle representing the former, and Henry Fowler and Tom Watson the latter team. The Dormitory defeated Kappa Sigma Thursday in the second game of the semi-finals, Reed and Elliott Roberts winning over Thatcher and Bronaugh. Wednesday afternoon the Oregon Club won from Phi Gam ma Delta by taking the first and third games of the match. The scores were 21-.'!, 19-21, and 21-8. Jones and Gray played for Phi Gam ma Delta and Collier and Calkins for the Oregon Club. The Oregon Club qualified for the final match yesterday afternoon, when its team defeated Zeta Phi. The Ore gon Club won the first and third games by decisive scores, while Zeta Phi took the second in one of the best played games of the season. The score was 25 to 22. MRS. PENNELL WILL ADDRESS ElITAXIANS Miss Allen Pennell, instructor of Art and Architecture of the Univer sity, will address the Eutaxians at their meeting next Tuesday evening on “A Masterpiece in Art.” Mrs. Pennell was to have spoken at the meeting last Tuesday e mniug, which was postponed on account of the rain. According to the contract with Manager Smith of the local opera louse, the theatre management has undertaken a share of the advertising to insure a good house at the popular prices that have been offered. The members of the commit tees should be selected by the House through a committee on committees, consisting of five members elected from the House. No two of these shall come from the same legislative district. All committees should meet ac cording to a schedule and attendance should lie made compulsory. I. Ml bills should be considered by committees in the order that they are received.
