Oregon Club Narrows Race for Cup
by Defeating Contenders
With 28-9 Score
(By Nell Hemenway.)
Since the Beth Reah-Oregon Club
game yesterday afternoon, resulting
in defeat for Beth Reah by a score
of 28 to 9, Kappa Alpha Theta, Lamb
da Rho and Gamma Delta Gamma re
main In the running for the Hayward
cup.
Yesterday’s game was close in the
first half, at the end of which the
score stood 10 to 9 in favor of the
Oregon Club. In the second half the
Oregon Club girls walked away with
the score, rolling up a total of 28
points and blanking Beth Reah in
that half.
Thb most spectacular feature of the
game was the remarkable basket j
throwing of Vera Molfat, whose un
erring aim was responsible for most,
of the Oregon Club’s success. She
threw a number of pretty baskets
from far out on the floor, which
slipped into the basket neatly and
called forth applause from the co-ed
fans.
Louis McCoy, ’08, is now working
for the General Electric Company at
Nugget Creek, near Treadwell, Alas
ka. In a letter to Professor Con
verse, McCoy says that the sun ri»es
there at 10 and sets at 3:30 at ■'this
time of the year, and that dog »«ams
are used to deliver milk and laundry.

(Continued from Tirfjt Page.)
In 1906, Oregon was doped to win,
>ut a muddy Held at Gorvallis helped
to keep the temcn. an d yellow from
scoring.

Oregon Wins Last Three Battles
In 1908, Oi.'egon upset the three to
one dope ai/ain and won from the
Aggies in Portland by an 8 to 0
score. Captain Moullen’s field goals
were responsible for the victory.
Again in 1909, things looked favor
able for O. A. C. The Aggies had it
all their own way until in the middle
of the second half, when Sap Latour
ette got away for the touchdown
which took the pep out of O. A. C.
Chuch Taylor made the other touch
down of this game.
The 1910 season was successful for
the football team, but the outcome of
the other bouts is not to be found in
the records. Oregon scored on a
touchdown by Walker and two place-1
kicks by Bill Main.
