Briedwell in three attempts madt
15 yards, but Pullman took the bal
when a forward pass went out ol
bounds. Cornell took Walker’s place
the Captain replacing Briedwell.
Kienholtz then made his best kick
sending the oval 35 yards, which Cor
nell returned 15. Walker and Cor
nell cost the Oregon team 2(> yards at
this point. Bradshaw kicked 30 yards,
Kienholtz returning it ten.
Two Pullman gains were offset by a
five yard penalty for offside play.
Oregon was guilty of interfering
with an Aggie forward pass, and was
penalized 15 yards. Pullman could
not gain in a couple of downs, so the
ball went to Oregon on their own 40
yard line. Parsons gained five, but
Walker was thrown back for a similar
distance. Bradshaw again punted 20.
Kienholtz sent a spiral for 35 yards,
but Parsons made nothing as the third
half ended, the ball being in Oregon’s
possession on their 1!) yard line.
Cornell Plays Sensationally.
After a minute’s rest the teams re
sumed play for the third quarter.
Parsons and Walker ambled for five
yards, but Bradshaw was sent back
on a fake kick for the same distance.
The oval went to Pullman on the Ore
gon 23 yard line. Coulter and Foster
annexed eight yards, but Canfield
nailed the next play for loss of one
yard . Foster failed to execute a place
kick from the 15 yard line. Cornell
skirted the end for four yards, then
made the only spectacular play of the
afternoon, when he tore off 24 yards
on a lake luck.
Caufield Hips Up VV. S. C. Line.
This pave Oregon heart, for Par
sons, Grout, Walker, and Cornell were
good for If) yards, but the advance
was short lived, for George Harter
caught a forward pass, which nave
the ball to the VV. S. ('. aggregation
on theic yard line. Caufield broke
through again and spoiled a play, but
the Pullmanitcs irsponded with a pass
which gave them eight yards.
Caufield outplayed Harter again,
and stopped another play before it
was started. On the third down, Ore
gon wa: penalized for holding. Pull
man alternated substantial gains with
lossi s, but finally punted, which gave
the ball to Oregon on their 20 yard
line.
Varsity Kicks at a Decision.
The Oregon team was thrown back
nine yards, before Bradshaw punted
;tt). \fter an exchange of kicks. Par
sons and Cornell made 20 yards on
end runs. Kenton replaced Anunsen
at end. Cornell found a way around
the end again for 20 yards in two at
tempts. Oregon at last worked a for
ward pa s, Walker to Bradshaw, for
nine yards. A forward pass to ken
ton fi in Cornell was unsuccessful.
This play caused a wrangle which de
layed th game for ten minutes. The
dispute arose over the pass received
by Kenton, which the officials declared
touched the ground.
Pullman recovered the ball on a
fumble, Knnholtz punted OS yards,
and the agony was over. Kinal score,
