GRADUATE MGR. STSTEM JUSTIFIED BV DEPORT Deficits Are Turned Into Profits, Not withstanding Faults That Are Pointed Out In System. With the close of the fiscal year, Manager Geary has submitted to the Student Body his report for the col lege year just ending. The report is not complete, and does not show the exact figures in tome cases, due to the fact that the sea son has just closed, and that the sy stem of handling the finances which is in vogue here, is not a satisfactory one. In comparing the results of the other enterprises for the year, with the results of last year, it is found that in two instances, baseball and the interscholastic track meet, that the deficit has been reduced from nearly eight hundred to one hundred dollars, while the prep school track meet was less of a financial failure to the extent of $120. A flat loss in both the basketball and track enter prises has been changed to a profit of $65.40 and $100, respectively. Among the recommendations which Geary thinks will improve still further the efficiency of student body adminstration, are that he be given absolute control of the student body taxes, and act as treasurer of the As sociated Students, thus combining the receiving and expending functions, which are now seperate. Further more, in order to permit a more busi ness like administration of the stu dent affairs, and a more accurate knowledge of the entire financial con dition, he recommends that the Monthly management be put in the hands of the graduate manager. His report follows, which is not exact, due to estimates of the out come of the track and baseball sea sons: General Keport to student Body. Receipts. From student body dances, Gore lecture and goods sold .$ 55.55 From basketball season. 65.40 From track season . 100.00 Total net receipts from en terprises contracted by graduate manager . $220.95 Expenditures.
