LELTOVERS PICNIC ABOUT THE COUNTRY Continued from page 1. burg, where they spent the week-end. On Sunday, the Lambda Rhos had Mr. and Mrs. Beals, and Mrs. Ran dall, for dinner guests. Monday evening, the Lambda Rhos entertained some of the “leftovers” with an informal dancing party. Mildred Bagley returned from Sa lem yesterday, where she spent the week-end. Kina McKelvey, of Portland, and Edith Knox, of Oregon City, are guests at the Kappa Alpha Theta House. Mrs. Merrick is visiting her daugh ter at the Chi Omega House. Both will leave for Portland on Wednes day. “Spider” Blackaby returned from Portland today, where he spent the week-end. Monday evening, the Mary Spiller girls entertained the Dorm men with a candy pull. Several outside girls were present also. Helen Beach, ’ll, is spending the week at the Gamma Phi Beta House. Library is Busy Place. Several of the members of 1912 are spending their vacation in the Uni versity Library working on thesis. Some of those who may daily be seen diligently at work are Ella Moulton, Nell Murphy, Leon Ray, Hazel Wight man, Nell Bonfield, Jack Shattuck, Homer Jamieson, Edna McKnight, Ce lia Hager, Rix Turner, Ralph Moores, and Ruth Merrick. Karl Onthank is receiving the Ore gana prints from the engravers and reports the work as being highly sa tisfactory. Mr. Merl Pate spent Sunday and Monday with his wife, who teaches at Coburg. Miss Anne Bergman is spending the holidays with her folks at Astoria. Emerald Printed in Real Shop. Yoran’s printing shop begins to as sume the appearance of a real print I ing house now that the second story is completed, plate glass front en stalled, and the debris cleared away. The Emerald will undoubtedly come out on time in the future Fraternities Entertain in Portland. The Gamma Phi Beta Sorority have sent out invitations for a dance at the Portland Heights Club, April 19th. A large number of Eugene and University people will attend. The Sigma Nu fraternity banqueted at Hazel woods in Portland Friday evening. About twenty alumnae, pledges and active members were present. After the feed a theater party was given at the Orpheum. The Alpha Tau Omega fraternity had a little “get together” feed in the banquet room of the Oregon Grill in Portland, Saturday evening, April 13. About 25 alumni, students, and pledges were present and the merry making was prolonged until a late hour.
