WASHINGTON LOSES
Continued from first page.
Bob Bradshaw maintained his rep
utation as a hard tighter, a player,
and if such a term could be applied
to basket shooting, Bob is a "pinch
hitter.” Last night, when Oregon
needed a score. "Bradshaw seen his
duty,—and he done it.”
Washington (iood Sportsmen.
Nothing but the highest praise for
their spirit and sportmanship has
been heard on the Oregon campus for
every individual on the Washington
team. Though suffering two reverses
at the hands of 0. A. C.« previous to
the Oregon games, the Washington
ians fought a hard, clean fight, which
assures credit to their school, whether
coupled with victory or defeat No
dissatisfaction was voiced against
the officials and the best of good feel
ing existed between the players of
both teams.
The two victories from Washington
give Oregon a clear claim to the con
ference championship bunting. O.
A. C. may dispute the claim, due to
their having played extra games, as
a result of doctoring their regular
schedule, which was agreed upon at
the conference meeting in December,
umn, two of which were responsible
for the victory.
Captain Jamison, left forward,
though suffering bruises from the pre
vious night’s encounter, which would
detail other than an iron man to the
permanent hospital corps, played one
of his hardest and most sensational
games. A clean basket from the fif
teen yard line early in the second half
was one of the features thrown in by
the shifty Oregon Captain.
Though beset by a guard who “rode"
part of the time, Jamie’s unerring eye
was responsible for six of Oregon’s
hard earned tallies.
Carl Fenton, the big Oregon center,
maintained his reputation as the best
center in the Northwest, though pitted
against a stellar performer in the per
son of Savage, the Washington Gol
liath.
The work of Ole Sims at guard last
night was a revelation to the basket
ball fans, as it has been during all
the previous games this season.
Speed and craftiness have won for
Sims foremost rank among the best
guards who have ever performed on
any Northwest basketball floor.
The University of Nevada will open
its first summer school this next sum
mer.
The following was told of the pa
tient of a well-known doctor:
The patient., an elderly gentleman,
became quite ill while the doctor was
absent upon a holiday, the indisposi
tion being the result of too frequent
potations. A female nurse was at
once engaged to care for him in his
hotel.
A lady residing in the same hotel,
became aware of his illness and in
quired concerning his condition of the
chambermaid.
“Shure, ma’am,” replied Maggie,
“an’ I think he do be gettin’ along
very well. The nurse was sittin on
his lap this mornin’.”—Western Drug
