SENIOR PLAY CROSEN
Faculty Committee Took Many Things
Into Consideration In Making
Selection.
With the aim of chosing the person
best adapted to each particular role,
the faculty committee, consisting of
Miss Burgess, Miss Perkins, and Pro
fessor Reddie, in conjunction with the
Senior play committee, have decided
upon a tentative cast for "She
Stoops to Conquer,” which will be
produced by the class of 1912 some
time near the Spring vacation.
The selection is not necessarily final
and will be subject to rearrangement
and change at the option of whoever
shall be chosen to coach the amateur
thespians.
1 he committee made the selections
with an eye to the special require
ments ot each role as to personality,
stature and bearing. Another factor
influencing the choice, was availibilty
ot as to amount of college work being
carried, number of outside interests,
and conflict with the coming Dramatic
Club production.

Work on the Oregana is now nicely
on the way with the promise that the
book will be decidedly the best yet
published. The “Joke editor,” Lloyd
Barzee, has his cohorts at work spy
ing out joke material and hints that
he has a good many new ideas, and
that nobody will be neglected in his
columns.
The picture taking will occupy the
time from now on until well past the
middle of February, even if every
thing goes off acording to the rather
close schedule. The staff is work
ing hard to prevent any delay in that
department as they are making every
effort to get the work out as early
as possible, and delay in getting the
cuts will hinder its early delivery on
the campus more than anything else.
In order to save time and needless
trouble, Nellie Hemenway, who has
charge of the fraternity, sorority
club and class pictures is anxious
that every student sitting for a pic
ture will tell the photographer just
how many times his or her picture
will appear in the volume, either as
a member of any club or staff or of
ficer of any student organization, so
that the correct number of solios can
be made at once. This plan will save
the editors and the photographers
much time which would be wasted
otherwise in searching through neg
atives after they have been put away,
simply because some student remem
bers at the last minute that he be
longs to something which he had for
gotten all about.
In order to give the book a neater
and more uniform appearance and to
insure better and clearer cuts, noth
ing but white backgrounds will be
used in the pictures. It has been the
custom formerly to use negatives
for two or three successive years if
they were good, but this year that
cannot be done unless the pictures
have light backgrounds. This will
necessitate the taking of more pho
tographs than usual but the cuts will
be decidedly better as a result.

for it and are ready to go into the
agreement any time all the bunches
decide to adopt the ruling.”
Word, Phi Gamma Delta—“We
have talked the matter over and agree
that the plan is a good one. You
may say that we are willing to get
together with the other bunches and
do our share towards adopting an
agreement that will be lived up to.”
Johns, Beta Theta Pi—“We have
always been strong for an agreement
not to pledge outside of college and
will jump at the chance to get to
gether with the other bunches. We
think such a plan would be better for
the prospective members and better
for the fraternities.”
Ralph Moores, Kappa Sigma—“We
have not fully decided what course
of action we will pursue, but are
ready to get together with the others
and act one way or the other.”
Emma Waterman is among the late
arrivals. She will be on the campus
again Monday.
"Judge" Homer decided to leave
college and is now working for the
Oregon Electric.
Karl Martzloff will return to Eu
gene Saturday. He has been suffer
ing from a serious illness during the
past week.
Tom Borman, a Sigma Xu fresh
man, has not yet returned to Eugene
on account of the death of his father
last Sunday in Baker City.
