Pre-Season Prospects Are Better

difficult corner. The outfield has eight
aspirants, VanMarter, Chau ' c", Mount,

The team will start Friday, 'Vpril Id,
on the trip north, playing Multnomah
on the 15th, U. of W., at Seattle, on
the 17th and 18th, W. S. C., a: Pullman,
on the 19th and 20th, Idaho at Moscow
on the 21st and 22nd. W. S. C. has
been unfortunate this season, tueir first
baseman having broken his leg in a
practice game.
Manager Luckey has supplied one
man in each of the various t’rals and
clubs with a bunch of season tickets,
■and those outside will be canvassed by
Ferguson, Ferruset and Cass.
23 SCHOOLS SIGNED UP
Interscholastic Meet Promises to
be Best in History of
Prep Meets
With twenty-three prep schools al
ready signed up, and negotiations on
with several others, the interscholastic
track meet, dated for May 12, will ex
ceed in entries and events any previous
state meet.
The high and pren schools entered
to date are as follows: Washington.
Lincoln, Jefferson, Allen Preparatory,
of Portland; Columbia University, Van
couver, Eugene, Baker, Pendleton, En
terprise, The Dalles, Medford, Oregon
City, Newberg, Prineville, Hood River,
Roseburg, Oakland, Grants Pass, La
Grande, Cottage Grove, Junction and
Springfield.
The larger schools are sending six
men, the smaller four All told, at
least 125 men are expected to en .or.
The track is being widened and a new
lot of hurdles is under construction,
which will lessen considerably the num -
ber of preliminaries necessary.
The medals for the event have arrived
from the East, and arc pronounced a
fine lot by those who have examined
them.
