the press today, and judging from the
style, material and make up, this number
will maintain the excellent standard set
by all the previous issues this year. The
March Monthly is devoted to the Uni
versity realm of music and is dedicated
to Professor I. M. Glen. Professor
Glen’s picture appears on the front is
piece, and he is designated “Patron
Saint of Music in the U. of O.” “An
Appreciation,” by Alma Noon, T3, is
cleverly written. An unknown writer
contributes “The Work of the Glee
Club,” Vernon Vawter, T3, writes on
“The First Night Out,” Hangen, T4.

SALEM STUDENTS MEET
AND FORM SALEM CLUB
A number of Varsity students regis
tered from Salem met at the Kappa
Sigma house last night and formed an
association of Salem students.
Will Mott, ’ll, was elected president,
and Wallace Benson, '14. secretary. A
committee was appointed to draft a con- j
stitution and by-laws and will report at
the next meeting, which will be held
Tuesday, March 28, at the Kappa house.
The purpose of the organization will
not be social, but the club will endeavor
primarily to boost the University with
the prospective college students in Sa
lem and will also endeavor to keep the
"preppers” informed of and in touch
with Varsity affairs.
Between twenty and thirty Salem stu
dents are now registered in the Univer
sity and if concerted action can be ob
tained much good can be accomplished
for the University.
It was decided last night that all Sa
lem students would be eligible regardless
of whether or not they were graduates
of Salem High School, and that a special
effort would he made to enlist the inter
est of the eligible co-eds.
IS THE BIBLE ADEQUATE
FOR NEEDS OF RACE?
Dr. F. N. Geselbracht, of Albany, will
give the fifth address of the series of
talks on the Bible, on Friday evening
at seven, in Deady Hall. Dr. Gesel
bnicht will speak on the subject, “Is the
Religion of the Bible Adequate to Meet
the Needs of the Race?”
A number of the men of the Universi
ty have heard Dr. Geselbracht speak,
and say that they consider him equal,
as an original tyhEfcr. to Dr. Hinson,
who spoke a couple of weeks ago. He
is thoroughly acquainted with student
problems and the student attitude to
ward religion, and knows how to adapt
himself to his audience.
One of the features of this meeting
will be the annual election of officers.
Nominations have already been made
by the committee. !

sor Glen and a committee of the class
have considered a number of plays, hut
none yet examined have answered the
requirements, so nothing has been defi
nitely decided upon.
In case a suitable play is found, it
will be put on some time before Junior i
