The seniors and juniors of the Elec- j
trical Engineering classes of the Uni
versity, chaperoned by Professor Dear
born, will make a tour of inspection of
the electrical plants in Oregon, during
the Easter vacation.
lhe trip planed by Professor Dear
born is as follows: lhe boys leave
Eugene on Saturday morning, April 17.
lhe tirst stop will be at Salem, where
the power plant of the Oregon Electric
company will be inspected. The en
gineers will then be transported in a
private car, furnished by the Oregon
Electric Company, to Portland, stop
ping for inspection of various substa
tions on the way between Salem and
Portland.
The following morning the tourists
will leave Portland for Cazadera. A
private car and an experienced guide
win be provided by the Portland Rail

this trip. At Cazadera they will in
spect a large hydraulic plant as well as
a new and larger plant under construc

who go, less than $15.00 each.
Similar expeditions have been made
into the Bohemia mining district in
the past by the mining department, but
first tour ever taken by the
Electric-1! Engineering students. The
trip will be taken bi-ennially hereafter.

EGATION TO CORVALLIS
Secretary E. M. Brown delivered an
interesting address at the meeting of
the Y. M. C. A. last night, on the sub
ject oi the big convention at Rochester,
New Y’ork, which he attended while
in the East last month on his vacation.
A large crowd was present to hear his
address and the meeting was dismissed
in time for all to go over to Villard
Hall and hear the debate which was
held later in the evening.
i he local association is preparing to
end a large delegation to the Oregon
idaho Y. M. C. A. convention, which
.ill begin in Corvallis Friday, Janu
ary 21, and will last until Sunday even

convention will be three addresses by

of the Y. M. C. A. President P. L.
Campbell will have charge of one of
the young men’s conferences on Satur
day afternoon, the second day of the
convention. About twenty men will go
from Eugene in the delegation from the
University of Oregon.
