The Engineering Club will meet next
Friday evening at 8 o’clock in McClure
Hall. Dr. Leonard will continue his
presentation of mathematical puzzles be
gun at the last meeting. F. T. Struck,
'll, and Earl A. Marshall, ’10, will
deliver short addresses. •
Lida Garret, ’12, and Madge Ham
11c, 'll, entertained very charmingly for
about thirty friends at Miss Garret’s
home Saturday evening. The parlors
were decorated with autumn leaves and
green boughs, carrying out the color
scheme of yellow and green. Games
and dancing were enjoyed by the guests.
Delicious refreshments were served by
Miss Garret’s sisters, Frances and Hat
tie.
I he Y. W. C. A. Girls say that prep
arations are being made for a huge suc
cess at the Promenade Concert next
Friday night. The proceeds are to be
used for building the Y. W. C. A. bun
galow just north of the campus.

committee gets through with Villard

English classes at Minnesota listen to
appropriate music while studying litera
ture.
C. J. Marsh, halfback on the North
western team, broke his leg in a scrim
mage practice last week.
The membership of the Glee Club of
Syracuse University numbers fifty, most
of whom are last year’s men.
Yale football officials are advocating
both morning and evening practice when
the squad gets down to hard work.
The baseball men have begun train
ing at California. Practice games be
tween the first and second teams will
be played three times a week.
Governor Charles E. Hughes of New
York will give a course of lectures on
” 1 he Responsibility of Citizenship,” at
Yale University, beginning Nov. 15.
Several students at the University of
Pennsylvania have organized an aero
plane club. An exhibition flight is to
be given on Thanksgiving day between
the halves of the Cornell-Pennsylvania
football game.
The co-eds of the University of Min
nesota have struck for better athletic
arrangements and have organized an
atheletic association for themselves, one
of the objects of which is to work for a
girls' gymnasium.
Walter Camp, Jr., son of the father
of football at Yale, is among the fresh
men candidates for the team. Old Yale
men say that his style of play is similar
to that of his father and predict that he
will be heard from later.
