Mrs. Clarenc. Huston left last
weekend to spend several days
with friends in Portland.

Egypt and India before the

Thursday morning be was guest
speaker before a women's group
in Medford.
Mr. and Mrs. Robtrr K. Wat
son of 829 W. Lookingglass
Road moved here recently from
Denver, Colo. Mrs. Watson
works at Mark's, and her bus
band is an apprentice baker at
Drive 'N Save. The Watsons
have a son and a daughter.
Oregon Stat University Moth
ers Club will hold its annual
Chinese auction and meeting at
the home of Mrs. William For
rest, 1187 SB Kane, Monday at
7:30 p.m. All mothers of OSU
students, present and past, are
invited. Co-hostesses with Mrs.
Forrest will be Mrs. Lee Wine
trout and Mrs. Irene Keel.
Those needing transportation
should call Mrs. Robert Lang
holff at 672-2316.
Mr. and Mrs. R. R. League
have returned from a three
week vacation in California.
They spent Christmas with their
son-in-law and daughter, Mr.
and Mrs. J. V. Crawford and
family of Palos Verdes Estates
and with their son, Mark League
and his family of Granada Hills,
Calif. While in Palm Springs,
they enjoyed riding the new
aerial tramway which opened
last September and is the larg
est double-reversible passenger
carrying tramway in the world.
It was a beautiful clear day
and the Salton Sea could be
seen in the distance. The weath
er was most pleasant all during
their sta so that they enjoyed
sailing with the Crawfords and
motor boating with Mark and
his family. They toured the big
General Motors plant at Van
Nuys and visited with their
many old friends in the valley
They were guests of the N. C
Wallins at Seal Beach for din
ner and a pleasant evening of
visiting. The Wallins are for
mer Roseburg residents. They
also visited in San Diego, Bal
boa Beach, Laguna, Costa Mesa
and Glendale. They especially
enjoyed viewing the exhibition
of Mexican art masterpieces
which was being held at the
Los Angeles County Museum of
Art and which drew record
crowds.
Bob Sttphani of Missoula,
Mont., has been a houseguest
for the past several weeks at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Chapman and family.
Mr. and Mrs. W. N. Craig
moved here recently from
Palmdale, Calif., and are re
siding at 582 NE Alameda. Mrs.
Craig works at the Tom Tom.
Mr. and Mrs. Gary Braack of
1156 SE Kane are newcomers
to the area. They came from
Port Angeles, Wash. Braack is
with the Dillard Lumber Co,
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Isou and
their four sons moved here re
cently from Los Angeles and
are residing at 761 NE Alame
da. Igou works for Perma Roof
ing Co.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas A.
Links of 2233 W. Harvard came
to Roseburg recently from
Bend. He is in timber manage
ment for Roseburg Lumber Co.
Mr. and Mrs. Links are the
parents of two daughters and
four sons.
Mr. and Mrs. Alfred C. Sutl
and two children are newcom
ers to Roseburg. They recent'
ly lived in Fossil, and now re
side here at 1528 SE Lane. Sutt
is timber appraiser for the state
of Oregon.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Andtr
son and four children are new
residents of the area, coming
here from Grants Pass. They
live at Rt. 1 Box 98 B on Rifle
Range Road. Anderson works
for Douglas County Lumber Co.
Mr. and Mrs. Malvin Ginger-
rich, who came here recently
from cottage Grove, are re
siding at 1156 NE Frecmont.
He is employed by the Tom
Lillebo Construction Co.
Mr. and Ms. Roman Prociw
and small son are newcomer
to the area. They came here
from Cottage Grove and are
currently living at 763 ME Al
amcda. Prociw is a painter
for Todd Building Co.
Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Liosinger
arc new residents of Roseburg
having moved here from San
Francisco. They are residing at
354 W. Casey St. Liesinger is
with the Roseburg Radio & TV
Service, and Mrs. Lieseinger is
a teacher at Fremont Junior
High. The couple has one (laugh

Extension Unit Holds
Meet At Glide Hall
The North Umpqua Home Ex
tension Unit held its first meet
ing of the year Jan. 8 at the
Glide Community Hall.
The project for the day, "De
veloping Responsibility in Chil
dren," was given by Mrs. Ralph
Hickman and Mrs. D u a nc
Shrum. The business meeting
was conducted by the chair
man, Mrs. Jim Henigan, who
presented a report on program
planning. The unit voted to give
$100 to the Glide Community
Club to help with improving the
hall. Mrs. Ken Overton and
Mrs. Robert Wilkerson were ap
pointed chairmen for the 1964
annual Christmas Bazaar.
Mrs. Henigan reported that
all Glide High School seniors
planning to attend Oregon State
University and interested . in
making application for tuition
scholarship at that college giv
en by the Douglas County Ex
tension Units, should contact
their principal or adviser as
soon as possible. .
