annual fall meeting of the Douglas
County School Boards' Association
held in Roseburg recently.
The Elkton High School annual
magazine drive is now underway,
having stHrtcd Friday.
Curtis Weiss and his assistant
Sally Ross, of the county school
office in Roseburg visited Elkton
schools rccetly and will make
regular visits each Monday and
Wednesday in assisting students of
both grade school and high school
in speech correction.
The grade school has increased
enrollment the past week to 175
from 171 on opening day of school.
Miss Martha Vance, daughter of
Mrs. Rubv Vance, will attend West
ern Business University in Portland
the school year. While in Portland
she will slay with Mrs. L. W. An
drrton.
Mr. and Mrs. Frederick J. Stoe
and two sons and two daughters
have moved to SE Flint St. from
San Diego. The former is chief re
cruiting officer for the Navy.

son and daughter have moved to
Roseburg from San Francisco and

ett have retired and moved from

attended the Oregon Conference
fall district assembly of the Meth
odist Youth Fellowship at Eugene
last Friday and Saturday. Attend

don and then to Amsterdam, where
they got a car and toured Holland,
Germany, Czechoslovakia, Aus
tria, Italy, Switzerland and France.
This was Olivia's first trip to Eu
