TINIEST VALVE Mrs. Marie Mazzari of New York
gazes tenderly at her 11 -month-old daughter, Theresa, as
they leave hospital. A team of specialists installed the
tiniest artificial valve ever placed in a human heart during
surgery to correct a heart defect in the child. It measures
10 millimeters wide (less than one inch) and inside it
rides a ball 12 millimeters in diameter.

Yourchok is in criticol condition in an Everett hospital.
