Spends Visit
In Winston
Mrs. Mary BonaDarte left Win.
ston Sunday for San Francisco, to
visit relatives before returning
home to South Ranee. Wis. She
spent the past few weeks visiting
with Mr. and Mrs. Archie Aniorde
in Winston. The families were
neighbors in Wisconsin. During her
stay Mrs. Bonaparte was guest of
honor at several coffees and din
ners. Among those was a luncheon
given by Mrs. Reedy Berg during
Mrs. Bonaparte's stay in Medford.
She has also visited with friends in
Suthcrlin and Oakland.
Miss Lcona Shcnherd sDent a re
cent weekend with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Don Shepherd in Win
ston. Lcona is a student at Ore
gon State University in Corvaliis.
During the summer vacation she is
employed at Fairview Home in
Salem in the physical therapy de
partment, this is her major
study at Oregon State.

summer from her studies at Wil
lamolto University in Salem, la
spending the vacation with her par
ents, Rev. and Mrs. Everett Gard.

John Gardner arrived in Dillard
from San Francisco, Calif., for the
weekend with his parents, Rev. and
Mrs. Gardner. He left PYii'iv r
Portland, accompanied by his fa
ther, where John will appear with
the New Savoy Co. this summer in
several light operas. He will also be
featured as a dancer. He has stud

Miss Wcndv Hunt, a student at
Willamctto University in Salem. Is
in Winston for the summer vaca
tion with her Barents. Mr. and Mrs.
Leo O. Hunt.

Miss Kathy Stanton, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Stanton in
Winston, Is attending the summer
classes at Southern Oregon Col
lege in Ashland.
Jack Jensen of Winston, a stu
dent at Southern Oregon College in
Ashland, is employed with the
DFPA in Roseburg during Uie sum
mer vacation.
Miss Rita Freadmnn of Winston
has been employed by the DFPA
for the summer and is now at one
of its lookouts. Also receiving spe
cial training for this type of work
is Miss Joan Gardner of Dillard.
She will report to Fairview Station '
on July 1 after a three-day train
ing period.
Mrs. Evelyn wickerson of Dil
lard spent the past week at Little
luvcr, where she is employed as a
cook for the Christian Church sum
mer camp. She will remain in the
camp for five weeks. -
Miss June Hutson, daughter or
Mr. and Mrs. A. W. McGuire in
Winston, left-Saturday morning for
Anchorage, Alaska. She was ac
companied by Mrs. Jim Pember
ton of Anchorage, who has been in
the area visiting friends. Miss.
Hutson has accepted employment
in Anchorage and plans to make
her home in that city.

Gary. Randy and Susan of Port
land, spent the weekend in Winston
with Mrs. Gilberd's parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Paul White. They return
ed Sunday evening. Susan remain
ed in Winston to visit her grand
parents for several days.

Visit In Oregon
Mrs. Hazel Smith has returned to
her home in Santa Rosa, Calif.,
after a visit in Oregon.
She visited relatives and friends
in Salem, Portland and Eugene.
In Garden Valley she was a guest
of her sister and brother-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. Myron Lehne. Mrs.
Smith brought Mrs. Lehne home
from Santa Rosa where she had
been visiting at the Smith home.
She was there to attend the Luth
er Hurbank Rose Festival. Mrs.
Smith and Mrs. Lehne also spent
a day In San Francisco.

mer employment.

Gary is employed in wood manu
facturing plant this summer.
Mr. and Mrs. K. C. Layer wore
In Portlond recently. They attend
ed the Diamond Jubilee Rose
Show at the Sheraton Hotel and
tho Rose Parade. They also had
dinner with the board of directors
of the State Mental Health Asso
ciation at the Multnomah Athletic
Club.
