Evelyn Wiley, arrived here Friday

her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Earl
Wiley, on SE Kane St.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Gilman
of this city will go to Portland
Sunday to attend Portland State
College commencement exercises,
at which time their daughter. l.ex
alynn, will receive her bachelor of
science degree.
Mrs. Fred Bernsu and son. John
ny, went to Portland Thursday for
the lutlcr to have his medical
check up. They were accompanied
as far as Euj ene by the ISernaus'
sons. Jerry and Jimmy, who stay
ed there with their maternal grand
mother. Mrs. Normr.n Cook. They
made the trip by bus.
Mr. and Mrs. Allen Chellis and
children, Karen and tlene, of Se
attle, spent the Memorial weekend
here with Mrs. Chellis' parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hitchman,
and with friends. Mrs. Chellis, l.en
ella Hitchman, was a student here
three years. She has been serving
as leader at the Home and School
Association for one of Seattle's Sev
enthdav Adventist junior acade
mies. Mr. and Mrs. Chellis return
ed home Sunday leaving their
children here at the llitchmans to
spend two weeks and to attend
Vacation Bible School beginning
June 10 in the Adventists' auditor
ium, Military and Umpqua.
