he might want to win the third
heart lead in his own hand.
A second heart lead was taken
by dummy's king and East dis

point things began to look better

in the other suits. In that case

To Sail Pacific
EUGENE (UPI A group of
University of Oregon graduate
students plan to sail for the South
Pacific this summer on an eight
month scientific expedition.
The University of Oregon an
nounced recently that grants from
two museums will help finance
the trip by Walter M. Frederick
sen, a teaching assistant in an
thropology; his wife, Demaris, al
so a graduate student; Richard E.
Ross, another teaching fellow, and
his wife. Barbara. The Frederick
sens plan to take their five-year-old
son, Erik, on the jaunt.
They will do archaeological
work on Washington and Fanning
Island under a grant from the
Bishop Museum in Honolulu and
in the Marquesas Islands under a
grant from the Kon-Tikl Museum
in Oslo, Norway.
They plan to sail from Portland
late in June or early in July on
a 40-foot trimaran built here and
launched at Corvallis March 18.
The trimaran, which has two 23
foot outboard hulls, is now under
going final fitting in Portland.
