tory of the season.
Opposing Hobbs was au-stater
Marv Edwards. Edwards limited
Roseburg to five hits, walked four
and struck out six. Edwards used
a variety of sharp-breaking curves,
mixed with a good fast ball to hold
the local squid's hitting to a mini
mum. Roseburg's winning run crossed
the plate in the third inning. Bob
Manning found himself behind Ed
wards on a one-and-two count, foul
ed off one pitch to stay alive. H
then picked his pitch and sent the
ball sailing over second base to
ward the wall in right-center field.
The liner dropped between the out
fielders and rolled to the fence.
While the center fielder was chas

to third.
Ron Polley followed with a base
on balls to put two Roseburg run

field. Manning tagged up and scor
ed easily after the catch. The next
two batters went out and Rose
burg enjoyed a slim 1-0 margin.
Loekwood Motors added an in
surance tally in the sixth stanza.
The unearned run scored when
Doug Coplln reached second on an
outfield error and scored on a

The Falcons left a total of eight
base runners stranded during the
game. The only serious scoring
threat came In the seventh inning,
