The Warriors had very few bright spots to brag about and the few they had were supplied by back Rich Wood and Tom Down ey, Wood galloped 85 yards for the lone Siletz tally and along with Downey accounted for most of the yardage against the Eagles. Added Te Attack While Wilson and Red Wiley were pacing the Eagles, quarter back Poatius and fullback Bill Thompson were adding to the at tack. Red Wiley was the leading ground gainer with 144 yards, fol lowed by Wilson with 112. Pontius, calling signals to perfection as he engineered Ihe drives which kept the Warriors guessing, picked up 28 yards of his own and Thompson gained 23 yards. An exchange of punts started the scoring for the Eagles when they partially blocked the Siletz boot deep in JiB Warriors' territory. Red Wiley grabbed the bouncing ball on the Siletz 22 and raced back to the 15 before being dropped. The first play netted the Eagles two yards and set the scene for Wilson. Wilson took the handoff from Pontius and fought his way through the left side of the Siletz forward wall.
