ty each year, according to Von
Borstel.
The next meeting of the PTA
will be at 8 p.m. Dec. 4 in the high
school multipurpose room. Glide

meeting of the Credit Women's

Appearing on the panel were

cutt. Mrs. Brady acted as modera
tor.
Plans were made at the meet
ing for the annual Christmas par
ty set for Dec. ft at the home of
Mrs. Brady in Winston.

The program given was in honor
of Veteran's Day and in recogni
tion of National hducalion Week
Supt 0raer Monger explained the
National Rlucation Week pro-
rim, and introduced Garry Bak
er, high rchool senior who acted
a, ma.ster of ceremonies for the
program.
Featured on the program were
songs and poems hy grade school
students and tumbling acts and
exercises deomonstrated by girls
of the senior high physical edu-
cation classes.
Mrs. Qualev's room won the
count award. Mothers of students
in the second grade served re
reshments at the close of the pro
gram.

Dress Christmas Dolls
The Roseburg Blue Star Mothers
had an active meeting recently at
the home of Olga Barnes, tying
two quills and completing other
work day prelects.
Dolls Stressed
A large number of dolls is now
ready to be turned into the Klks
Club for Community Christmas

work meetings, according to Mrs.
L. Barnes, club spokesman.
Plans were made for a Christ
mas party to be held in December.

an additional $7.90 for Douglas-fir.

an additional $195 for western
hemlock and other species and
$0 55 for slash disposal for all spe
cies. The prices bid for stumpage
shall be considered as tentative
rates subject to quarterly calen
dar adjustment upward or down
ward bv O S of the difference be
tween the average of the monthly
Douglas-fir region indices, as cal
culated by the Forest Service or
the Western Pine Association lum
ber price index for the three pre
vious months, and the following
base indices: Douglas-fir 108.38(C).

justments in the price for stump
age shall be applicable to timber
scaled during the three-months pe
riod following the quarter for
which the adjustment is computed.
In no event, however, shall the ad
justed stumpage rates for each
quarter he less than the base rates
as stated above. Sealed bids will
he publicly opened and posted, at
Ihe office of the forest supervisor
at 2:00 P.M., on December 19, 19B1.
All those who submitted a satis
factory sealed bid will be permit
ted immediately to continue auc
tiun bidding. A money order, bank
draft, cashier's or certified check
in the sum of $6,000 00 must ac
company each bid, to be applied to
the purchase price, refunded, or
retained for application to
anyl
claim for damages, according to
the conditions of sate. If requested
hy the purchaser, contract terms
will permit felling of timher in ad
vance of payment up to the value
of the performance hond. If an
oral hid is declared to he high at
the closing of the auction, the bid
