World War I Yets To Revive Custom Douglas Barracks 17S, Veterans of World War I, will revive an old local custom Saturday, reports Harry Rapp, commander. The date of Nov. II, Rapp ex plains, was known as Armistice Day by veterans of the First World War. It remained a holiday for the men of that war until after the Second World War. Then -it became Veterans Day. day to honor veterans of all wars. One of the features of Armistice Day. says Rapp, was a get-together of veterans. Following morn ing parade and program, there was a dinner. But, when the holi day grew so large, the reunion of veterans was discontinued. Douglas Barracks, Rapp reports, is reviving the dinner feature. A meal, to which all World War I veterans are invited, is to be serv ed at the Episcopal Parish Hall at noon, Saturday, Nov. II. "Meet Your Buddies." is the slogan fori the event, says Rapp. apeciai guesis are 10 oe r-owara W. (Woody) Maddoic, well known radio announcer, and Charles V. Stanton, editor of The News-Review. ACCENT ON COMEDY NEW YORK (AP) When a dialect problem popped up in prep aration of "The Complaisant Lov er' for Broadway, producer Irene ilayer SeUnik found the solution at home.
