Sutherfin Students To Attend Meetings Sutherlin High School will send right representatives to the annual Oregon Scholastic Press Confer ence. The meetings will take place Friday and Saturday on the uni versity of Oregon campus in Eu gene. Attending the two-day sessions will be representatives from stu dent newscipers, new photograph ers and yearbook writers from high schools in Oregon. BILL 'Renewal In Charge1 Is Theme For SOC Campus Church Meeting "Renewal in Change," it t h e theme of the Oregon Town and Country Church Conference to be held on the Southern Oregon col lege campus Oct. 12 and 13. Based on the problems of town and country churches in western Oregon, the conference will study the changes and trends that have taken place during the last 10 to 20 years in churches and commun ities. The program will be developed by tne Keynote speakers and by a pan el discussing the changes, trends and needs which are of vital con eern for future growth and de velopment of churches in western and southern Oregon. A survey of churches in these areas was made by the conference commit tee to aid in determining these needs. Principal speakers include: Dr. G. Burton Wood, head of the de partment of agricultural econom ics at Oregon State University; Phillip F. Ayleswurth, affiliated with the federal-state relations the United States Department of Special Service Set For Winston Church Professor William Richardson of Northwest Christian College will he the guest speaker at II a.m. Sunday services at the Winston Christian Church. Special guests will he Olaf Car penter and Wendell Wagler who will be present for the dedication of a Christian Service Roll. Throe Ordained During the 10-year history of the Winston Church, three men have been ordained and are presently serving churches in various capac ities. Besides the Rev. Mr. Car penter, who preaches at Snoho mish. Wash., and the Rev. Mr. Wagler. who is assistant minister at Medford, there is also the Rev. Roger Davidson, who hi assistant minister at Forest Grove. Gerald Carter and Ron Coulter are presently preparing themselves for Christian service, and their names will be added to the Chris tian Service Roll when their schooling is completed. The junior choir rehearsal be gins at .V15 p.m., followed by a worship service at 5:30. At 6 p.m. there are study groups for adults, high school and junior high stu dents and a story time and activ ity period for younger children. The Sunday church school begins at 9:45 a.m. with the church serv ices following at 11 a.m. A nurs ery is available for both morning services to care for the younger children whose parents wish to attend. Women's Group Active The Christian Women's Fellow ship met recently at the home of Mrs. (ieorge Carter. The women are selling all-occasion and Christ mas cards again this year. The group is sponsoring a boy at White Swan Indian Mission and contrib utes to the United Christian Mis sionary Scoicty and the Okinawa and AlcKinlcy missions.
