Silver Wedding Anniversary

Friends and relatives of Mr. and
Mrs. Alfred Daniels called at their
home on Carey Street in Winston
Saturday evening to honor them on
their 25th wedding anniversary.
Lovely floral arrangements were
placed about the spacious living
room and centered the lace cover
ed table. Many lovely gifts were
received by the couple and a late
buffet supper was enjoyed.
Many cards were received and
friends called to extend best wish
es to the couple. Motion pictures

A bridal shower for Mrs. Mi
chael M. Darby, the former Judith
Kaye Nelson, was held Wednesday
afternoon at Idleyld Park Lodge.

Mayme Sendlebach, both of Idle
yld, were hostesses for the charm
ing affair.

ioli formed the room decorations.
Following a period of games and
award of prizes, the honoree open
ed her gifts and refreshments were

White Family Returns Home
After Cross Country Trip
Mr. and Mrs. Clifford E. White
and son and daughter have return
ed to their home h Winston after
a three-week trip covering 7,911
miles.
They left Winston, making their
first stop to visit friends and rela
tives in Steamboat, Colo. They
drove the Trail Ridge Scenic Route
out of Denver, stopping in Kansas
for a two-day visit with friends and
relatives. One night was spent in
Missouri with an aunt of Mrs.
White's, whom she saw for the
first time.
A trip into St. Louis and Kansas
City was followed by the continu
ation of their trip into Kentucky to
see the Smoky Mountains, Cumber
land Falls and on to Tennessee and
North Carolina, where they visited
a son. Floyd,: and wife and new
baby daughter, born June 28. Floyd
is stationed at Spring Lake, N. C,
with the U. S. Army.
After viewing the Atlantic Ocean
they drove on to Washington, D.C.,
for several days of sightseeing then
to Maryland, Pennsylvania, New
York and Niagara Falls, where
they enjoyed the excursion by boat
beneath the falls. From there they

Meet On Friday
The Zuleima Woodland Nile Club
of Glendale held its September
meeting as a surprise housewarm
ing Friday evening at the home of
Mrs. Dan Clare. After the business
meeting, Mrs. Clare received a
shrub for her garden. Refresh
ments brought by members of the
club were served at the close of
the meeting.

Thompson, Mrs. Harold Cooley,
Mrs. Fred Kafer. Mrs. Bernie Hal
verson, Mrs. Bill Halstead, Mrs.

tario and Pt. Huron. They saw all
of the Great Lakes except Lake
Erie. Mackinac Bridge was cross
ed into Michigan where they saw
Iron Mountain.
Returning, they were in North
Dakota and Montana, sightseeing
at Glacier National Park, then on
to Spokane, Wash., up the Colum
bia River Gorge to Portland and
on to Winston, where Roy and Lin
da White have enrolled for the
school term.
Extension Unit
Meets AtTenmile
. The Olalla-Tenmile Home Exten
sion Unit met at the clubhouse in
Tenmile Thursday afternoon. Proj
ects for the year were discussed.
Committee chairman and project
leaders were named.
Mrs. Lloyd Thomas, unit chair
man, announced the "Red Hat"
program to be held at the fair
grounds Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. Care
of game in the field, and its cut
ting and cooking will be featured.
The program is open to both men
and women. The next meeting will
be Sept. 26 at 10 a.m. A potluck
lunch will be served at noon.
Refreshments were served by
the hostesses, Mrs. Lloyd Thomas
and Mrs. Glen Good. Others en
joying the afternoon were: Mrs.
William Stoffal, Mrs. Don Gilbert,
Mrs. O. L. Dawson, Mrs. C. W. Wil

Minister Takes Bride

July 8 to Margaret Barry at Se

Riebling Twins
Observe Birthday
Charles and Pamela Riebling,
twin son and daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Charles Riebling of Glendale,
celebrated their 11th birthday at a
party at the city park Friday eve
ning. The twins and their guests
roasted wieners around a camp
fire and were served twin birthday
cakes and soft drinks. Pamela's
cake was white and green, while
Charles' cake was yellow with
green trimming.

were served and watched televi
sion for the rest of the evening.

Mary Elickson. a member of the
chapter who died in Florida last

John Wright was discussed.
