Har vey Lynch, and family of Walport, Ore., were also called to Oklahoma by his illness, and stopped in Wil bur on their way home and visited with the Wayne Gable family. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Moore and son and Mr. and Mrs. Wavne Ga ble and two children drove to Junc tion City over the past weekend to attend a family birthday dinner. 11 was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bryant and several members of the family whose birth days are in March were honored. Glide Family Goes On Trip' By MRS. ARTHUR SELBY Mr. and Mrs. Lester Spurgeon and two children of Glide left re cently for the Teton National Park in Wyoming where they will visit the former's brother, Stanley Spur geon. and family and Mrs. Spur geon's sister, who are both em ployed in the park system. The Spurgcons will visit friends at Bend en route home. Spurgeon is supervisor of fire control aid at the Glide Ranger Station. During the winter, he serves as snow Ranger. Ed Zontek is taking Spur geon's place as snow Ranger at the Taft Mountain ski area. Employ R.turns Otis Dunnavin has returned to his work in the engineering de partment at the Glide Ranger Sta tion after two month's vacation. Dunnavin's home is in Myrtle Creek hut he lives at the Little River district camp and spends the weekends with his family. Mrs. Leo Bunnell and two chil dren left recently for Lakeview, accompanied by the former's moth er, Mrs. Walter Price, to spend a week visiting Mrs. Bunnell's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Adams. . DEWEY CHAMBLEN A course in hunter safetv is planned for interested persons 10 years of age and older at Tenmile Clubhouse by Lloyd Thomas, re tired from the Los Angeles City Police Force in California and now living on Reston Road near Ten mile. The Oregon safety course is pat terened after that developed by the National Rifle Association in cooperation with the National Edu cation Association. It consists of lectures and demonstrations on basic firearms safety, etiquette and game laws, as well as instruc ting the students in the organiza tion of the Mate Game Lomims sion. The program provides seven or more hours of instruction on guns and related subjects. Each class will be limited to 10 members with .22 caliber rifles and meetings will be of one hour duration. Up till then, average temperatures, when plotted on a graph, had shown a long upward trend beginning in the 1880s. At its peak, the annual mean temperature was about .9 degrees warmer than in 1880.
