ROSEBURG MOTORS CLASSIFIED DISPLAY PORTLAND (AP) - The Port land City Council Thursday amended the city lire code to per mit open fires at the site of de molition work in the South Audi torium urban renewal project. Six weeks ago the state Sani tary Authority, noting an absence of city regulation, ordered a halt to open burning because of the air pollution it caused. That stopped much demolition work at the project and at other building projects throughout the city. Spokesmen for both business and labor urged the council lift the burning ban.
