Conference Attended Mrs. Dan Russell, leader of the Yoncalla Jr. Livestock Club, at tended the recent Oregon 4-H club leaders' conference in Corvallis. International Farm Youth Ex change students at Oregon State College. Some told of the countries they had visited and the 1961 stu dents told of the countries they will visit this summer. Umpqua Unit Plans Tailoring Lesson The Umpqua Home Extension Unit will meet at the Calapooia Clubhouse Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. for a tailoring lesson, reports Edith Dunn, correspondent. Mrs. Robert Sharp and M r a, Harlan Haines will serve as in structors for the lesson. A knit ting lesson will be offered to those ladies not taking the tailoring course. A potluck lunch will be served at noon. Program planning will take place. Class T Mm! The Ladies Bible Class of the Oakland Community Presbyterian Church will meet it the home of Mrs. Neil Burpee Friday at 2 p.m. Miss Barbara Early, a student at the University of Oregon, Eu gene spent the past weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hunter Early. Miss Dernaris Clutch and Lee Sanderson of Medford were recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schulte. Miss Clutch and Mrs. Schulze are on the committee for the educational workshop of Epst Ion Sigma Alpha to be held at Coos Bay in April. Mr. and Mrs. James Runge and family drove to Portland recently with Mrs. Rungc's mother, Mrs. Margaret Trochelman, who took a jet airliner for Chicago, HI. Mrs. Trochelman has spent the past two months with her daughter in Oak land. Benedict Will Introduce County Option Time Bill SALEM fAP) A bill to let each county decide for itself whether it wants daylight saving time will be introduced by Rep. Ed Benedict, D-Portland. Benedict made his announce ment at a House Planning and Development Committee meeting on a memorial which would ask Congress to put the whole coun try on standard time each sum mer, as well as the rest of the year. The voters rejected last Novem ber a bill to have daylight sav ing time each summer, while a similar measure was approved in Washington. California has had daylight saving time for several years.
