The points will count up as fol lows: two points for each entire family present; five for each new person in Sunday School; two points for each returnee (someone who hasn't been since Christmas); 10 points if attendance is over that of the Sunday before; 15 for each Sunday that attendance is over 80; one point if a person is there on his birthday or the Sunday imme diately following; and five points for each Sunday all teachers are present. Ritz, pastor, acted as chairman for Uie business meet ing held Sunday evening in the Youth Chapel of the Roseburg Seventh-day Adventist church when a summary of last year's activities was given and plans laid for spe cial projects to be carried out in 1961. According to Elton Hansen, church treasurer he sent to the Ore gon Conference last year, $84,782 which sum included $67,900 in tithes and nearly $17,000 in various offerings. In addition to these the members had raised $86,000 for the new church building and $10,000 for local expenses. The figures show that the members averaged more than $450 per capita in tithes and otierings lor the year. Albert Marx, church clerk, re ported that 22 had been added to the church here through baptism last year and 36 bv transfer from 1 other Adventist churches for a net ' gain of 30, making the Dec. 31 total membership of 395. Gilbert i Wood, Sabbath School Superintend i ent, ' announced that the Sabbath ' School had raised more than $9,- 000 through its weekly offerings- moneys set aside for mission work Mrs. Nelson To Speak . Mrs. Clarence Nelson, who is vis iting at the home of her son-in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Peasen of Lookingglass, will be guest speaker at the meeting of the Mary Martha group of the Lookingglass Church on Tuesday. Mrs. Nelson will tell of the work of her son who is a medical mis sionary in the Congo. This word was given here to members of Congress. The five new submarines will add lo the 14 which have been built or are under construction. Kennedy, in ordering the Polar is program stepped up, said un obligated ship building funds would be used to "build and place on station, at least nine months earlier than planned, substantial ly more" Polaris missile firing submarines. Out of the proposed total of 19, two, the George Washington and Patrick Henry, have joined the fleet. Slayer Pleads Guilty On Manslaughter Count PORTLAND (AP) Donat Wallace of Portland, accused of killing Robert Jenn, 37, in a shoot, ing spree in front of a North Port land cafe in November, will be sentenced Monday. He interrupted his trial on a charge of first degree murder to enter a plea of guilty to man slaughter Thursday. The prosecu tion had agreed to the reduced charge.
