McClintock and Mrs. Ray Carrico, second, and Mrs. E. J. Wilkey and Donald Bloss, third. The double ring ceremony was used Dec. 17 at 3 p.m. when Miss Shirley Darlene Butler, daughter of Alvin Butler of Roseburg, and Kalph Warren McWimams. son ol -Mr. and Mrs. T. D. McWilliams of this city, were married at the first .Methodist Church. One hun dred fifty friends and relatives of the couple were present for the service which was performed by the Kev. H. James Jenkins. Two Christmas trees in the back ground and baskets of greens, hol ly and red poinsettias with red candles made a pretty setting for the ceremony. The aisle pews were ornamented with white satin bows with red poinsettia centers. Verne Reynolds was organist. Special music was "The Lord's Prayer" and "Because." The bride was escorted to t h e altar by her father. She wore a floor-length dress of white taffeta and Chantilly lace, fashioned with a scalloped necKiine. Her veil was fingertip in length and she carried a bouquet of red carnations sur rounding a white orchid. She wore an evening star necklace, a gift of the bridegroom. Sandra Butler, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bride- maids were Pattv Dent. Kay John son, Judy Stewart and Mary Keel. All wore red tatteta ballerina length frocks with white fur head bands and matching fur muffs ac cented with red poinsettias. They wore pearl necklaces given to Uiem as presents from the bride. James Bewley was best man. Horticulture Club Has Lovely Birthday Party The Delwin Horticulture Club met Wednesday at the home of Catherine Cory, 3iu oregory Drive, for birthday party. A short meet ing was held, then games were played. Evelyn Nickcrson was a guest. A large pink and white birthday cake, made hy Mrs. Nickcrson, was served by the girls of the club to the following members, guest and leader: Jeanne Patrick, K a t h y Justis, Joyce Ann Wright, James and Larry Householder, Roger Nickeraon, Mervin Pearson, Hay mond Shepherd, Peter McCord Kent Barton, Mrs. Nickerson and Mrs. Lory. The next meeting will be Feb, 8, with J. Roland Parker, agricul ture agent, as guest speaker. Louise Gwaltney would like her appointment as agent for Pacific Insurance Company and will be pleased to be of service for your insurance needs 427 N. E. The bridegroom's mother wore a deep purple crepe and lace-trimmed dress with winter white ac cessories. The bride's grandmoth er, Mrs. Blanche Butler, wore black and white tweed suit with black accessories. Both wore white carnation corsages. A reception was held following the ceremony. White wedding bells adorned the reception room. The lovely four-tiered wedding cake, trimmed with holly and poinset tias, had been made by Mrs, C. H. Packer. Serving at the reception were Mrs. Bjarne Paulson, Miss LaVeta Ball, Miss Donna Ball, Miss Judy Piper and Miss Sandy Renfro. Both young people were grad uated from Roseburg High School, the bride in 10, and the bride groom in 1955. Mrs. McWilliams is employed as secretary for Lam ka and Trued and her husband, who saw service in the U.S. Ma rife Corps, is employed as a press operator al Roseburg Lum ber. The newlyweds are now at home at 1559 SB Hamilton following a honeymoon in Eugene. For going away the bride wore a gold and brown tweed suit with brown ac cessories. She carried a white fur muff and the orchid from her wed ding bouquet. Coming from Yakima, Wash., to attend the wedding were the bride's grandmother, Mrs. Blanche Butler, and her uncle, Dale Butler. son and Lena Poole, RSVG; Aug ust Heck and Faye Crieger, LSVG; Ruth Plumer, color bear er; Ona Williams was installed as RSVG protein for Lena Poole. After the obligation of the elec tive officer, Theta Rho girl Alene Batton, daughter of the new noble grand, sang a solo, accompanied at the piano by Sharon Lee, presi dent of the Theta Rho girls club They also presented a gift to the noble grand from the club in ap preciation for her being assistant advisor of the club lor the past year. Mrs. Bovingdon received her re galia from Mrs. Batton on behalf of last year s officers. Several present gave short talks. Refreshments were served by Bea McBride, Alice Larson, Lydia Gillette, Pearl Anderson and Mar gret Saunders. Tables had been decorated by Faye Jensen and Bea McDonald. Club To Have Party The Valentine guest-day party for Women of the Roseburg Coun try Club will bo an interesting af fair of f cb. 16 at a 12:30 o clock luncheon at the clubhouse.
