Newlyweds MR. AND MRS. LARRY H. FITZGERALD, above, were ' morried Dec. 31, in a double ring ceremony performed ' by Ward Watson, Justice of the Peace at Surherlim. The bride, Carol Thiring, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Stampka of Roseburg ond the bridegroom 'is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Fitzgerald, Reston Rood. Dixie J. Culberrson and L. R. Scott of Roseburg were attendants. The brWe wore a chompagne brocade two-piece jacket dress with champogne accessories ond on orchid corsage. The bride's attendant wore a beige wool dress with brown accessories and a miniature yellow orchid corsage. The bride attended high school in Jamestown, N. Mrs. John Davis Shower Honoree Mm. John Davis of Tiller was honored at pink and blue howr recently for which Mrs. Alfred Darrach and Mrs. Donald E. Kolen were hostesses, entertaining at the Darrach home. The hottcsses served dainly re freshments. Present were M r s. JIahkm R. Hale, Mrs. Harry Car ton, Mrs. Gene Carlson, Mrs. Mil lard II. Lilligi en, 'Mrs. Richard Williams, Mrs. Vernon McGinnis, Mrs. Del Godbey, Mrs. Ray Loon ey, Mrs. John Utley, Mrs. Bill G Onstott, Mrs. Roger Williams, Mrs. Bobby Murray and Miss Fran Newman. Sending gifts were Mrs. Ira B Poole, Mrs. John Wright and Mrs John 0. Wilson. Micheners Are Honored The 30th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Michener was celebrated at their spacious home on Lookingglass Road from 2 to 5 p.m. Dec. 26. The open house was given by the couple's son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John MacKnight of San Jose, Calif. Also present for the occa sion was the Micheners' only grandchild, Kamrin MacKnight. Holiday decorations were used throughout the entire house. A spe cial centerpiece made up of pine cones, long pine needles, colored balls and ribbon, and flanked with six white tapered candles, graced the serving table. The beautiful three-tiered wedding cake was dec orated with pink roses and topped by a miniature bridal couple which had been used on the MacKnights' wedding cake. The miniature bride and bridegroom were "haloed" by a small spray of tiny white bell shaped flowers. For the occasion, Mrs. Michener wore an afternoon dress of brown wool. Her corsage was of tanger ine carnations. Mrs. MacKnight's corsage was of American Beauty roses. Presiding at the serving table during the afternoon were Mrs. Norris Johnson, who poured, and Mrs. Vernon Beavers, w(io served punch. They also served tne dain ty holiday cookies made especial ly for the occasion by Mrs. Wil- lard Schroeder of North Bend. Mrs. Melvin Wetherell cut and served the wedding cake. In honor of the "pearl annivers ary," a lovely pearl-handled carv ing set was presented to the Mich eners, together with other lovely gifts. Among the large group attend ing were many friends arid rela tives from the same locality in Minnesota where the Micheners lived before -coming here. D. Craddock of Tempe,. Ariz., and James Rodney Powell, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Powell, Rose burg. The nuptial service which took place at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 10 was conducted by the Rev. Robert KingsburV. Methodist student direc tor of the Wesley Foundation. . The church was decorated with arrangements of candles and Blue Bov. spiral eucalvDtus and white Fuji chrysanthemums. Arnold Laf erty sang "O Perfect Love" and . me ura irayer. The bride's father gave her in marriage. She was charming in Junior Club Initiates The Roseburg Woman's club house was the location of the year ly initiation ot new memners into the Roseburg Junior Women's Club. ' her ballerina-length bridal gown of Chantilly lace, fashioned with a bell skirt, scoop neckline and three-quarter jileeves. Her circular veil was shoulder-length and was secured by a lace crown. She car ried a .fan of white roses centered with a white orchid. Miss Mary Ann Hoffman of Sa lina, Calif., was maid of honor. She wore a dance-length bell-skirted frock of Burgundy satin with matching veil and gloves and car ried a fan of pink roses. Mrs. Don Clark of Portland was brides maid. Her veil and gloves matched her champagne pink satin gown and she carried a fan of roses. Lee Burghardt of Walnut Creek, Calif., was best man. Ushering was done by Bill Johnston of Rose burg. Judy Loosley of Roseburg was flower girl. She wore a pink satin party dress. Her fan was fashioned of roses in two colors of pink. Ring bearer was Steve Loosley of Rose-' burg. The mother of the bride wore a smart lilac silk suit with matching accessories. Her feathered hat was of orchid, lilac and purple. Mrs.- Powell wore a becoming green and gold brocaded gown with matching .accessories. A reception was held in the church lounge following the cere mony. . Serving were Nancy Wood ruff and Mrs. Andrew Johnston, both of Eugene, and Mrs. Lee Burghardt of Walnut Creek, Calif. Mrs. Paul Stivers presented the guest book. For her going-away costume, the bride wore a red wool tunic dress which had been made by her moth er. She wore gold and black ac cessories. The couple honeymooned at Laurel Ranch at Umpqua and now reside at the Town and Coun try Trailer Court at 45 Coburg Road in Eugene. - The bride attended Arizona State University at Tempe, Ariz., and Boston University Graduate School. She is a member of Kappa Delta, Spurs and Pleiades and is listed in Who's Who in American Col leges and Universities. She is presently a teacher at Children's Hospital School. The bridegroom was graduated from Roseburg High School and is a student at University of Oregon. Out-of-state guests included Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Craddock of Tempe.
