About 30 persons attended the meeting and joined in the general discussion. Many matters expected to come before the 19(il Oregon legislature received attention, with school bus and highway safety laws, in addition to the finance mat ter, being of particular interest. Members of th audience were in vited to make notes of their opin ions on various questions discuss ed, and a tabulation of results will be made lo determine majority at titudes locally. Members discussed plans for a rummage sale which will be held at the Rosebutg Women's Club in Roseburg. Jan. 21. Anyone having clothing to donate may phone OS-9-8442 for pick up. Reports were given by Alma Walker and Gertie Hess regarding the Community Christmas Store held in Roseburg in December in which the Grove participated joint ly with the r.vergreen Grange. Grove Year Books were recent ly completed through the coopera tion of Bella Holm, llary Lynn Holm, Bea Cornilsen and Agnes Veach and were distributed to the membership by president Phcbe McGuire. Canyonville Family Returns From Holiday Vacation Trip By VIRGINIA PROCTOR Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Proctor and family returned to Canyonville last week from a two week holiday trip to Los Angeles and Chicago, at tending family reunions in both cities. In Los Angeles they were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Proctor Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Proctor and visited with other members of the family and friends. In Chicago, they were the guests of the Charles E. Huwen family and were joined there by Mr. and Mrs. K. J. Huwen of Tampa, Fla., and Mr. and Mrs. William Hiber and son of Anchorage, Alaska. The Hibers, former Roseburg res idents and well known in the Can yonville area as well, speak en enthusiastically about Anchor age, where Mrs. Hiber is promo tion manager of the Midnight Sun Broadcasting company and has a daily program on the local TV station there. Hiber is in the body and fender repair business. Mary Dunlap Wins Prize Mary Dunlap of Days Creek was awarded the prize afghan by the Three Links club of Canyonville at their regular meeting at the IOOK hall Tuesday evening. In other business the group made plans for the installation of offi cers of Bertha Rebekah Lodge No. 188 to be held this week. Film of Trip Shown John Season Jr., and Robert Casebeer of Riddle showed their slides of this summer's hiking trips over the mountains of Oregon to the Nickel Mountain Rock Club which held its regular meeting at the Bill Pilhofer residence Thurs day evening. The O.E.S. Signet, loaned by Roseburg Chapter to Oregon Chap ter in 1948 after the Masonic tem ple in Canyonville burned, was re turned recently by a large group of Oregon Chapter members. Officially returning the signet was S. Frank Brown who was Worthy Patron of Oregon Chapter at the time it was borrowed. The signet was returned at this time in order that it might be a part of Roseburg Chapter's 75th annivers ary scheduled for later this month. Other Oregon Chapter activities include the mailing of a box uf gifts to the Masonic and Eastern Star home at Forest Grove sent in time for Christmas.
