Mr. and Mrs. C. H. (Stub) Estel ttrom of this city went to San Francisco this week to enjoy the Shrine East-West football game. Jim Robertson has resumed his studies at University of Oregon, following the holidays here visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Jar vis Robertson. Mrs. Fred Stever has returned to her home on N. Jackson Street, following a stay in Portland at tending to business. Both Mr. and Mrs. Stever spent a part of the holidays visiting in California. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Seand land have returned to their home here after spending the holiday in Coquille visiting the latter's son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Rogan, and children. Mr. and Mrs. Orville Mountain and Patricia have returned home after spending the holidays in Southern California. Mrs. Moun tain and Patricia stayed in Rialto, Calif., with the former's brother, Jack Atkin, and family; and her sister, Mrs. Doris Hester, and and brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Arnold. The group met to attend family business con nected with the estate of the late Mrs. B. Atkin, mother of Mrs. Mountain, Mrs. Hester, Mrs. Ar nold and Jack Atkin. Orville Moun tain was in Santa Monica attend ing to business affairs. The Moun tains arrived home New Year's night. The next day a combination holiday party was enjoyed with Mr. and Mrs. .John Mountain and family of Eugene. Winston College Student Leaves . By PHEBE McGUIRE Clyda Murray, a senior at Ore gon College of Education in Mon mouth, has returned to resume her studies after spending the holi days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Murray of Winston. - Miss Murray was accompanied home by a friend, Rajanikant P. hhatt Irom Barotia uujarat, India, who is studying for his Ph. D. in bacteriology at Oregon Stale Col lege in Corvallis. Sweeleys Visited Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Louie Sweeley in Winston during the recent holidays were: Mr. and Mrs. Louie Sweeley and children from Hayard, Calif.; Bill Sweeley of San Leandro, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Foster and dauEhter of Snarks. Dr. and Mrs. Harry VanDer mark and family spent part of the New Year's holiday in Medford, where they visited the former's mother, Mrs. Hazel Rawles. Serviceman Leave Specialist 4 Robert Oilman has left for Fort Ricker. Ala., where he will be stationed for special instructions in the armed forces. Mrs. Gilman and daughters re mained in Dillard where they now reside. The Gilman arrived in Dil lard before the holidays, where they have been visiting their par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Haume ser and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gil man, after residing in the Hawai ian Islands the past two years. Mitt Ricki Hukari has returned to her work in the office of Pac ific Telephone-Northwest in Port land, following a visit here with her parents. Mr. and Mrt. Gene Baxter of Moscow, Idaho, visited here re cently at the home of the latter's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Daughtery, and fam ily. The Baxters were en route home after a trip to California. Mr. and Mrt. Homer Pattiton returned to Roseburg Tuesday eve ning from Portland where they spent the past week. They attend ed the funeral of Mrs. Pattison's aunt, who died Dec. 25. They also visited relatives in the Portland and Salem vicinities. ' Mitt Grace Smurr has returned to her home in Southern California, following a stay here at the home of her brother-in-law, Dr. Charles K. Todd. Miss Smurr had been visiting in the East and was called to Roseburg by the sudden death of her sister, Mrs. Todd. Robert McDermott returned to his work with the Burke Arenz Mu sic Co. in Portland Tuesday, fol lowing the last two weeks here visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. M. McDermott. His father took him back to Portland and at tended to business there. McDer mott is distributor for Tidewater Oil Co. here. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Stock have re turned to their home on Dogwood Drive after spending the holidays visiting their son, S. Sgt. Donald Smith, and family, who are station ed at Larson AFB at Moses Lake, Wash. On Dec. 23 the Smiths be came parents of a son, Kenneth Floyd, who weighed 7 pounds 2 ounces. The new baby joins two brothers, David, 3v, and Billy, 1. Sgt. Smith is just completing his seventh year in the U. S. Air Force. Mrs. Smith is the former Jackie Evans of this city. Mr. and Mrt. Lloyd Johnton and family spent the holiday week end in Eugene visiting Johnson's parents,. Mr. and Mrs. Otto John son. Mr. and Mrt. Carroll Nash have returned home after spending a week in Pasco, Wash., visiting with relatives. Nash is agent for Farmer's Insurance Group, Deanna Pugh, the daughter of Mr. and Airs. H. I. Pugh, Calkins Road, has returned to Portland to begin a course at a business school. She spent the Christmas holidays here with her parents. Mr. and Mrt. Harry Jonet and family are back at their home in Roseburg, following a vacation trip during the holidays to Disneyland and other points of interest in California. Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Henninger of Sacramento, Calif, spent a part of the holidays here visiting the latter's mother Mrs. E. R. Harvey, and Mr. Harvey, in Westmorland.
