Church Seminar Set At Springfield A three-day education seminar, sponsored by Jehovah's Witnesses, will be held in the Springfield High School, Jan. 13-15. Some 1.000 ministers from over 25 cities in Oregon will attend the educational meeting. Kenneth L. Curtis, presiding min ister of the Roseburg congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, will super vise all auditing for the assem bly. Mr. Curtis has been associ ated with Jehovah's Witnesses for the past 21 years. He served as riresidin? minister in the congre gations at Myrtle Creek, Port Or ford. Coos Bay and Albany, before being assigned to Roseburg by the Watchtower unite anci iracr so ciety of New York. Curtis will be in charge of one of the 23 differ ent organizational departments which are manned by volunteer workers. He will also have a pan on the Sunday morning program Jan. 15. Some 20.000 congregations world wide will also conduct such a meet ing at the same time as the Springfield event. The highlight of the Springfield assembly will be a public address given Jan. 15, entitled "Is Cod Interested In The Affairs of Men?" All persons are invited to attend and no offer ing will be taken. Prior to Dick's com ing to Roseburg for the holidays, he was a member of the U. S. Air Force graduating class at Laredo, Texas, at which lime he received his silver wings. Dick was gradu ated from Roseburg High School and University of Oregon, lie made his home here with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R. K. I Itoad, 8 10 p.m. 8 P-"1- Riversdale Family Back From Trip By BEVERLY CHRISTIAN Mr. and Mrs. Don Guiley have returned to their Riversdale home after spending several days in California. They visited the former's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. S. K. McGaughey, and family in Areata. In the San Francisco area, they visited Guiley's uncle, Glenn Guiley, of Medford who was hos pitalized there. He has since re turned home for further treatment. Also visited in the hay area were relatives of Mrs. Guiley. Trip Taken Mr. and Mrs. Don Kruse and family spent New Year's in He Minnville with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Matthews, local residents, who were visiting the latter's mother there. On New Year's Day the Kruses went to Salem to attend a family reunion. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Burkhart and daughter spent two days last week in Portland. Going to Salem on New Year's Day to attend the Kruse family reunion were Mr. and Mrs. II. B. Kruse and Mr. and Mrs. Neil Chris tian and family. There were 52 in attendance at the affair which was held at the new community build ing in Pringle Park. M. B. Emmitt has returned from a two-week vacation to I.aBarge, Wvo., where he visited his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Coon, and family. John Burkhart has received word of the death of his brother, Henry, in Indianapolis, lnd. The latter had been ill for nearly three weeks. Mrs. Marie Richardson of Port land is assisting in the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Cardiff, while Car diff is recovering from surgery. .
