All that is changed now. Leah, 4, has a new home here, a new mother, Mrs. Robert Leonard, and two new brothers. However, she still has no father. Leonard vis killed in a plane crash near Mis soula, Mont., Oct. 26 as he was en route to New York, to get the newly-adopted child. That accident delayed, but did not cancel, Leah's arrival here. She arrived in Salem Tuesday Recital At Glendale Conducted By Students Piano students of Mrs. Joe Payne of Glendale held a recital recently at the Glendale Masonic Temple, according to Mrs. G.B. Fox, News-Review correspondent. Included on the program were the following boys and girls: Allien ell Swanson. Esther Gaedecke, Ann Thompson, Ann Bartle, Mary Palmer, Judy Palmer, Beverly Roberts. Janice Roberts. Kay Rob erts, Barbara Ham, Patty Staple- ton, Evelyn Kimm-ougn, i-eggy jo Edson, Susan Major, Barbara Kimbrough, Betty Stapleton, and Christiane bwanson. Duets were played by Judy and Marv Palmer and by Kay and Janice Roberts. During an interview, Leah danced around the room and laughed while Mrs. Leonard said the child never had eaten meat prior to her arrival in this coun try, and had never heard of orange juice. Leah, who was born in Crete and came to this country from Athens, hid spent every Christ mas until this year in an orphan age, Mrs. Leonard said. Leah has a partially paralyzed arm. . Mrs. Leonard said that she someday plans to work with handicapped children, after Leah and her adopted sons, Casey, , and Tony, 3, are in school. ' Until then,: she said, there are her own three children. Tben she turned to Leah and whispered: "S'agapo ( love you)." The child replied: "S'agapo." Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Johnson and three daughters of Anchqrage, Alaska, who have been visiting relatives in Klamath Falls and Southern California, will arrive in Winston the Jay after Christmas to spend a few days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur McGuire before returning to their home in : Alaska.
